Torn Ranch Inc., Announces a Voluntary Nationwide Recall of All Products That Contain Dry Roasted and Honey Roasted Peanuts

Torn Ranch Inc. is voluntarily recalling all bulk and packaged products containing dry roasted peanuts shipped between January 1, 2007 thru January 28, 2009 and Honey Roasted Peanuts shipped between September 1, 2008 thru January 28, 2009, because they contain peanuts recalled by Peanut Corporation of America and may be contaminated with Salmonella.

Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

All bulk and packaged products containing Dry Roasted Peanuts shipped between January 1, 2007 thru January 28, 2009 and additional products containing Dry Roasted Peanuts being recalled are:

* Berry Blossom Trail Mix
* International Trail Mix
* The Mark Trail Mix
* Torn Ranch Trail Mix

All bulk and packaged products containing Honey Roasted Peanuts shipped between September 1, 2008 thru January 28, 2009 and additional products containing Honey Roasted Peanuts being recalled are:

* Hot & Spicy Snack Mix
* Milk Chocolate covered Honey Roasted Peanuts

Though Torn Ranch is not aware of any reported cases of illness related to these products, we have issued this voluntary recall as a responsible and precautionary measure.

Consumers who have purchased any products produced by Torn Ranch Inc. containing Dry Roasted or Honey Roasted Peanuts are urged to discard expired product, or return unexpired products to Torn Ranch Inc. for replacement.
