Caribou Coffee® Participates in Voluntary Nationwide Peanut Product Recall

Caribou Coffee Company, Inc. (NASDAQ: CBOU), is voluntarily recalling the Caribou Fruit and Nut Blend Trail Mix as a precautionary measure.

This move is a result of the recent peanut and peanut product recall by Peanut Corporation of America "PCA." The product is Caribou Fruit & Nut Blend Trail Mix, 3-oz. size (SKU #007845), with the sell by dates of MAR 03 2009 and JUN 30 2009 also marked with the manufacturing dates of NOV 03 2008 and DEC 30 2008. Our supplier, Marra Brothers/Marich Confectionary has informed us that the peanuts used in our Fruit & Nut Blend Trail Mix are from PCA. Caribou Coffee has not received any complaints of consumer illnesses associated with this product.

Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, the elderly, and persons with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and/or abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses, such as arterial infections (i.e. infected aneurysms), endocarditis, and arthritis. Consumers who have purchased the recalled products should either destroy the product or contact Caribou Coffee for a refund at 1.888.CARIBOU (1.888.227.4268) weekdays from 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. CT

The recalled Caribou Fruit and Nut Blend Trail Mix was distributed nationwide through January 30, 2009. The product comes in a sealed 3-ounce cellophane bag.

No other Caribou Coffee products or flavors are included in this recall.
