Isagenix Announces Voluntary Recall of Chocolate Dipped Honey Peanut IsaLean® Bar Due to Possible Peanut Corporation of America (PCA) Contamination and Potential Health Risk
No Cases of Illness Reported

Isagenix International L.L.C. today announced a precautionary, voluntary recall of its Isagenix® Branded Chocolate Dipped Honey Peanut IsaLean® Bar because the product contains certain peanut based ingredients which were manufactured by Peanut Corporation of America (PCA), which is the focus of an widening Salmonella investigation by the United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA). Isagenix, through its contract supplier is no longer using PCA as a peanut ingredient supplier.

Isagenix Chocolate Dipped Honey Peanut IsaLean® Bars (UPC # 602410) are sold nationwide through a network of independent direct sales distributors. Lot numbers included in the voluntary recall are 11390108, 11390208, 12390308 & 12390808. Lot numbers appear on both the carton and individual bars.

The voluntary recall does not apply to the Chocolate Crunch IsaLean® Bar, which contains peanut butter, and the Peanut Crunch Bar®, which contains peanut pieces or any other Isagenix products.

There have been no cases of illness or adverse effects reported by any Isagenix customers, and no other Isagenix products are affected by this recall, including those with peanut butter or peanut flour. No Salmonella contamination has been detected in the Chocolate Dipped Honey Peanut Bar. This voluntary recall is in line with FDA recommendations and Isagenix has removed this bar from existing inventory.

Consumer safety is our number one priority, along with other major bar manufacturers and keeping in line with the recommendations FDA, we are urging all customers who have purchased or are in possession of the Chocolate Dipped Honey Peanut Bar with the above mentioned lot numbers to immediately destroy them. If you have distributed any of the affected products, please immediately contact those accounts/customers, advise them of the recall and instruct them to immediately destroy them. Customers seeking a replacement bar for the above lot numbers are being asked to call an Isagenix representative at 1-877-877-8111 and a replacement product will be issued.

Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and other with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e. infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
