House of Flavors Ice Cream Company, Ludington, MI. is recalling 64 ounce square packages of Hannaford Chocolate Chip Ice Cream lot code number SR L1 26-426 08319 because this lot contains undeclared walnuts. The lot code is printed on the top of the carton flap in black ink. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to walnuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.
This product was distributed in the state of Florida to Sweetbay Supermarkets.
One allergic reaction has been reported to date.
The problem resulted when cartons of Hannaford Chocolate Chip Ice Cream were inadvertently filled at the plant during or after a run of Hannaford Maple Walnut Ice Cream.
