Name of Product: Lithium-ion batteries used in HP and Compaq notebook computers
Units: About 162,600 additional batteries (54,000 and 70,000 batteries were previously recalled in May 2010 and May 2009, respectively)
Importer: Hewlett-Packard Company, of Palo Alto, Calif.
Hazard: The recalled lithium-ion batteries can overheat and rupture, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: Since the May 2010 recall expansion, HP has received 40 additional reports of batteries that overheated and ruptured, resulting in seven burn injuries, one smoke inhalation injury, and 36 instances of property damage.
Description: The recalled lithium-ion rechargeable batteries are used with various model series of HP and Compaq notebook computers and include batteries that consumers were informed were not included in previous recalls. The chart below includes all notebook model numbers associated with batteries recalled to date. The computer model number is located at the top of the service label on the bottom of the notebook computer. Not all batteries matching the bar codes are being recalled.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately remove the batteries from their notebook computer and contact HP to determine if their battery is included in this recall. Consumers who had previously checked their batteries and were informed they were not included in previous announcements are urged to check again. Consumers with recalled batteries will receive a free replacement battery. After removing the recalled battery from their notebook computer, consumers may use the AC adapter to power the computer until a replacement battery arrives.

June Deadline Set for End to Globe Fire Sprinkler Model J Sprinkler Recall Property Owners Should Act Now To Request Replacement of Sprinkler Heads
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Globe Fire Sprinkler Corp. are urging residential and commercial property owners who have model J dry-type series fire sprinklers covered under the previously-announced recall and have not yet filed a claim to replace them, to contact Globe Fire Sprinkler immediately. Home and commercial property owners should immediately submit their claim, as the program for receiving replacement heads will end on June 1, 2011.
The voluntary replacement program, which was first announced in June 2007, included about 300,000 model J series dry fire sprinklers manufactured by Globe Fire Sprinkler due to a concern that these sprinklers can deteriorate over time and can fail to operate in a fire situation.
To participate in the replacement sprinkler program, property owners must submit "Proof of Claim" and "Waiver and Release of Claims" forms to Globe Fire Sprinkler Corporation postmarked by June 1, 2011. Valid claims received prior to the deadline will qualify for replacement sprinkler heads.
Consumers can obtain the claim forms, additional information on identifying the sprinklers covered by this recall and instructions on filing a claim by visiting www.globesprinkler.com or by calling Globe Fire Sprinkler Corporation at (800) 248-0278 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.
This deadline relates only to the Globe model J dry type sprinklers recalled on June 12, 2007. It does not involve additional models of sprinklers other than those named in the June 2007 recall announcement. Building owners need not take any further action if they have: (1) had replacement sprinklers installed by Globe Fire Sprinkler; (2) submitted a claim to Globe Fire Sprinkler that has been deemed complete and installation of the replacement heads is pending; or (3) confirmed that their sprinkler heads are not covered by the Globe Fire Sprinkler model J dry type recall. Building owners who have previously submitted an incomplete claim will be sent a reminder notice reminding them to send in any missing information or materials by the June 1, 2011 deadline or else their claim will be void.
Globe Fire Sprinkler Corp. urges all other building owners to consult with their fire sprinkler installer and/or check their system records as soon as possible to determine whether their sprinkler heads are covered by this program.

Name of Product: Marineland Stealth and Stealth Pro Aquarium Heaters
Units: About 1.2 million
Importer: United Pet Group, of Cincinnati, Ohio
Hazard: A wiring problem can cause the aquarium heaters to overheat or break during normal use, damaging the aquarium and posing fire and laceration hazards to consumers. Overheating can cause the heater to shatter or the acquarium glass to break.
Incidents/Injuries: United Pet Group has received 38 reports of fires resulting in property damage and 45 reports of broken aquarium glass. United Pet Group has received one report of a consumer who suffered an eye injury when the aquarium heater forcefully broke while he held it.
Description: The recall involves the following Marineland Stealth and Stealth Pro acquarium heaters. The heaters are black plastic tubes and have a temperature adjustment knob at the top. The model name "Stealth" (in white letters) or "Stealth Pro" (in red letters) is printed on the side of the heater. The model number and the wattage rating are printed below the model name. Stealth Pro heaters were also sold as part of aquarium starter kits.

Hazard: The decorative bronze powder coat finish on the fireplace chimney can ignite during use, posing a fire hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: Sunjoy has received 14 reports of the chimney's decorative powder coat finish catching fire, resulting in one report of melted siding. No injuries have been reported.
Description: This recall involves "Garden Treasures Living" steel outdoor fireplaces with a bronze finish chimney and slate colored accents. The wood burning fireplace is approximately 24 inches deep by 35 inches wide and 57 inches tall, has two glass doors and a tile back inside. Item number 0027705 and model number L-OF082PST-3 are printed on the front page of the product's instruction manual. No other "Garden Treasures Living" brand outdoor fireplaces are included in this recall.

Burlington Coat Factory Recalls Slow Cookers Due to Fire Hazard

Importer/Distributor: Lehrhoff ABL, of Carlstadt, N.J.
Hazard: The slow cooker's control panel can overheat and melt, posing a fire hazard.
Incidents/Injuries: The manufacturer has received 60 reports of the control panels smoking, melting and sparking, and three reports of panels catching fire. Fourteen incidents resulted in minor damage to countertops. No injuries have been reported.
Description: This recall involves Bella Kitchen 5-quart programmable slow cookers. The slow cookers are black with "Bella Kitchen" printed on the control panel. Only slow cookers with model number WJ-5000DE and date codes 0907 or 0909 are included in this recall. The model number and the four-digit date code are printed on a label on the underside of the product.

Name of Product: Golden tea lights sold with ornament tea light holders
Units: About 370,000 tea lights in United States and 30,000 tea lights in Canada

Hazard: The flame from the tea lights can burn with a high flame, posing a fire hazard.
Injuries/Incidents: The firm has received four reports of high flames. In one of these incidents, the consumer suffered a minor burn.
Description: This recall involves all tea lights in golden tin cups sold in sets of five with either the Red Ornament Tea Light Holder (SKU 2473959) or the White Ornament Tea Light Holder (SKU 2473961). The SKU number is found on the packaging.
Sold exclusively at: Pier 1 Imports stores from September 2010 through January 2011 for between $2 and $8.

Remote Control Systems Recalled by Niles Audio Due to Fire Hazard

Name of Product: Remote control systems for entertainment electronics
Units: About 4,160
Manufacturer: Niles Audio Corp., of Miami, Fla.
Hazard: If the battery falls from the remote control during handling, it can rupture and smoke or ignite, posing a fire hazard.
Incidents/Injuries: The company has received four reports of batteries falling from the remote control system during handling; one of the batteries ignited and singed a carpet and the other three smoked.
Description: This recall involves the Niles iRemoteTS and iC2 remote control systems. These are wireless remote control devices that are designed to operate audio, video and home theater systems from a single remote control. The iRemoteTS measures 5.4 by 6.2 by 1.25 inches. The Niles logo is featured in the top-left corner of the unit. The iC2 measures 5.2 by 3 by 7.5 inches. "iC2" and the Niles logo are printed on the front of the unit.
Sold at: Authorized dealers and distributors of audio/video equipment between January 2008 and September 2010 for about $1,300 for the iRemoteTS and $1,000 for the iC2.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and contact Niles Audio to schedule an in-home repair to receive a replacement battery and a more secure battery cover. Lasko Recalls Portable Electric Heaters Due To Fire Hazard
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
Type of Product: Portable electric heater
Units: About 107,500 units.
Manufacturer: Lasko Products Inc., of West Chester, Pa.
Hazard: An electrical connection in the base of the unit can overheat, causing it to melt and expose the electrical connection, posing a fire hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: Lasko received a total of 36 reports of the electrical connection overheating with no reports of injury. There were 18 reports of minor burn damage to floors or carpets.
Description: The portable, electric, tower heaters are 20.5 inches tall x 8.25 inches wide x 9.25 inches deep. They are dark grey with silver front covers and black vent slats. The brand names Lasko or Air King are on the top, center of the front cover. The Lasko Model 5540 and Air King Model 8540 subject to this recall were manufactured in 2002 and have date codes that begin with a "2." The date code is on the label located on the bottom of the unit. The date code is a four-digit number on the bottom left area of the label, above the voltage number. Heaters with date codes beginning with "3," "4" or "5" are not subject to this recall.
Sold at: The Lasko Model 5540 was sold at Sam's Club and other retailers from September 2002 through early 2004 for $39 to $49. The Air King Model 8540 was sold primarily through the maintenance, repair and operating products supply company, W.W. Grainger Inc. from late 2002 to 2004 for approximately $80.00

GE and Professional Series Brand Dehumidifiers Recalled Due to Fire Hazard
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Name of Product: GE and Professional Series Brand Dehumidifiers
Units: About 198,000
Importer: GEA Products L.P., of Louisville, Ky., and CEM Global LLC (Professional Series) of China
Manufacturer: GD Midea Air Conditioning Equipment Ltd., of China
Hazard: A component in the dehumidifier's compressor can short circuit, posing a fire hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: Midea and GE have received a total of 14 reports of incidents involving smoke and fumes emitting from the unit and eight reports of fires. In six of the reported fire incidents, property damage extended beyond the unit. No injuries have been reported.
Description: This recall involves 30-pint and 40-pint portable dehumidifiers manufactured between November 2006 and August 2007, and during April 2008. The dehumidifiers are white with a front-loading water bucket. "GE" or "Professional Series" and digital controls are located on top of the dehumidifier. Wal-Mart Recalls Electric Heaters Due to Fire and Burn Hazard
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
Name of Product: Flow Pro, Airtech, Aloha Breeze & Comfort Essentials Heaters
Units: About 2.2 million
Importer: Wal-Mart Stores Inc., of Bentonville, Arkansas
Hazard: The heaters can malfunction resulting in overheating, smoking, burning, melting and fire.
Incidents/Injuries: Wal-Mart has received 21 reports of incidents, which included 11 reports of property damage beyond the heater. Injuries were reported in four incidents, three of which required medical attention for minor burns and smoke inhalation. The remaining incidents included smoke irritation, sparking or property damage beyond the heater.
Description: This recall involves Flow Pro, Airtech, Aloha Breeze and Comfort Essentials 1500 watt heaters. The heaters are grey with a metal handle on the top with vents and grey control knobs on the front. The model number is 1013 and can be found on a label on the lower left corner of the back panel of the heater.
Sold Exclusively at: Walmart stores nationwide from December 2001 through October 2009 for about $18.
Manufactured in: China
Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled heater and return the product to any Walmart store for a full refund.

AmerTac Recalls Night Lights Due to Fire and Burn Hazard
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
Name of Product: Forever-Glo(r) Cylinder Nite Lites
Units: About 272,000
Importer: American Tack & Hardware Co. Inc. (AmerTac), of Saddle River, N.J.
Hazard: An electrical short circuit in the night light can cause it to overheat and smolder or melt which can burn consumers or result in a fire.
Incidents/Injuries: AmerTac has received nine reports of the recalled night lights smoking, burning, melting and/or charring. No injuries have been reported.
Description: The recalled Forever-Glo(r) Cylinder Nite Lite is a cylinder shaped night light with a white base and clear top that plugs into the wall. Only Model Number 71107 with a manufacturer code of SY is included in this recall. The model number and manufacturer code are printed on the back of the night light. The light measures about 4 inches in height by 1- 1/2 inches wide and is about 1 inch deep.
Sold at: Hardware stores, lighting showrooms and home centers nationwide from May 2009 through September 2010 for about $5.
Manufactured in: China
Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled night lights immediately. If the units are plugged into the wall, remove the light from the wall socket. Contact the firm for instructions on receiving a full refund.

Mini Tillers with Honda Engines Recalled Due to Fire Hazard
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
Name of Product: Honda and Mantis Mini Tillers
Units: About 6,150
Manufacturer: American Honda Motor Co., of Torrance, Calif.
Hazard: A rubber grommet that is part of the engine's fuel tank may crack and leak fuel, posing a fire hazard.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported.
Description: The recalled mini tillers have Honda GX25 mini four-stroke engines and their engine serial numbers can be found on the engine near the fuel tank cap. Both brands come in red and black.
- Honda Mini Tiller: Model number FG110 with serial numbers GCALT 1696948 to 1700567.
- Mantis Mini Tiller: Model numbers 7262 and 7270 with serial numbers GCART-1165215 to 1171495.
Sold at: Honda Power Equipment Dealers, The Home Depot, outdoor power equipment dealers, rental dealers, retailers, mail order and catalog houses nationwide from March 2010 through September 2010 for about $400.
Manufactured: The engines were made in Thailand and assembled in the United States using domestic and globally sourced products.
Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using any mini tiller with engines in the affected serial number ranges and contact any Honda Power Equipment dealer or Honda Engine dealer (Mantis owners only) to arrange to have the fuel tank assembly replaced free of charge. Registered owners of the recalled mini tillers will be sent a notice by mail.

Hazard: The bulb in the battery-operated lanterns can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received one report of the bulb in a lantern overheating. No injuries have been reported.
Description: This recall involves plastic Halloween-themed lanterns designed to resemble a pumpkin, ghost and skull. The lanterns are about 6 1/2 inches tall and were sold in orange, white and black. Model number 954437-13096-003-1005 is printed on the bottom of the lanterns.

GE Recalls Dishwashers Due to Fire Hazard

Name of Product : GE Profile™ and GE Monogram® Dishwashers
Units: About 174,000
Manufacturer: GE Appliances &Lighting, of Louisville, Ky.
Hazard: Water condensation can drip onto the electronic control board, causing a short circuit and resulting in an overheated connector. This poses a fire hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: GE has received five reports of fires, four of which caused minor damage to the kitchen countertops where the dishwashers were installed and one caused minor damage to adjacent cabinets and smoke damage to the home. No injuries have been reported.
Description: This recall involves the GE Profile dishwashers manufactured between July 2002 and December 2005 and GE Monogram dishwashers manufactured between January 2004 and December 2006. They were sold in white, black, bisque, stainless steel and with custom panels. The recalled model and serial numbers listed below are located on the inside on the front left side of the dishwasher tubs.

Name of Product: Frigidaire and Electrolux ICON Smoothtop Electric Cooktops and Frigidaire Slide-in Ranges with rotary knobs and digital displays
Units: About 122,000
Manufacturer: Electrolux Home Products Inc., of Charlotte, N.C.
Hazard: Liquids can pool under the control knob and cause the surface heating element to turn on unexpectedly, heat to temperatures other than expected and then not turn off, posing a risk of fire and burn hazards to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: Electrolux has received 70 reports of incidents, including three reports of fires that resulted in property damage. Three minor burn injuries were reported.
Description: This recall involves Frigidaire and Electrolux ICON smoothtop electric cooktops and Frigidaire slide-in ranges with rotary knobs and digital displays. Name of Product: Wolverine, Spider-Man and Iron Man 2 Projector Flashlights
Units: About 275,000
Retailer: Dollar Tree Stores Inc. of Chesapeake, Va.

Hazard: The flashlights can cause the batteries and/or bulb to overheat, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received three reports of incidents involving batteries overheating in the recalled flashlights. Reported incidents include a flashlight that melted and a flashlight battery that caught fire. No injuries have been reported.
Description: The recalled projector flashlights are about 6 1/2 inches in length and have the Wolverine, Spider-Man and Iron Man characters and names printed on them. The flashlights come with five extra mini discs that attach to the flashlight to project various images. The back of the packaging contains the number 16879-20012-003-1003 and UPC 6 39277 16879 5.
