Name of Product: General Electric(r) Food Processors
Units: About 255,000
Importer: Walmart Stores Inc., of Bentonville, Ark.
Hazard: The safety interlock system on the recalled food processor can fail; allowing operation without the lid secured which poses a laceration hazard. In addition, the product can emit smoke, or catch fire, posing a fire hazard.
Incidents/Injuries: Walmart has received a total of 58 incident reports: 24 reports of the food processor operating without the lid in place, of which 21 resulted in injuries to fingertips; and 34 reports of the unit smoking, including 3 reports of fires.
Description: This recall involves GE-branded digital, 14-cup food processors. The food processors are black with stainless steel trim, and model number 169203 is imprinted on the underside of the unit.
Sold exclusively at: Walmart stores nationwide and Walmart.com from September 2009 through February 2011 for a retail price of about $50.
Manufactured in: China
Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled food processor and return the product to any Walmart for a full refund.

GE and Professional Series Brand Dehumidifiers Recalled Due to Fire Hazard
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
Name of Product: GE and Professional Series Brand Dehumidifiers
Units: About 198,000
Importer: GEA Products L.P., of Louisville, Ky., and CEM Global LLC (Professional Series) of China
Manufacturer: GD Midea Air Conditioning Equipment Ltd., of China
Hazard: A component in the dehumidifier's compressor can short circuit, posing a fire hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: Midea and GE have received a total of 14 reports of incidents involving smoke and fumes emitting from the unit and eight reports of fires. In six of the reported fire incidents, property damage extended beyond the unit. No injuries have been reported.
Description: This recall involves 30-pint and 40-pint portable dehumidifiers manufactured between November 2006 and August 2007, and during April 2008. The dehumidifiers are white with a front-loading water bucket. "GE" or "Professional Series" and digital controls are located on top of the dehumidifier. GE Recalls Dishwashers Due to Fire Hazard

Name of Product : GE Profile™ and GE Monogram® Dishwashers
Units: About 174,000
Manufacturer: GE Appliances &Lighting, of Louisville, Ky.
Hazard: Water condensation can drip onto the electronic control board, causing a short circuit and resulting in an overheated connector. This poses a fire hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: GE has received five reports of fires, four of which caused minor damage to the kitchen countertops where the dishwashers were installed and one caused minor damage to adjacent cabinets and smoke damage to the home. No injuries have been reported.
Description: This recall involves the GE Profile dishwashers manufactured between July 2002 and December 2005 and GE Monogram dishwashers manufactured between January 2004 and December 2006. They were sold in white, black, bisque, stainless steel and with custom panels. The recalled model and serial numbers listed below are located on the inside on the front left side of the dishwasher tubs.

GE Recalls Front Load Washers Due to Fire and Shock Hazards
/PRNewswire -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
Name of product: GE Front-Load Washing Machines
Units: About 181,000
Manufacturer: GE Appliances & Lighting, of Louisville, Ky.
Hazard: A wire can break in the machine and make contact with a metal part on the washtub while the machine is operating, posing fire and shock hazards to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: GE is aware of seven incidents in which flames escaped the units and caused minor smoke damage. No injuries have been reported.
Description: This recall involves GE front-load washing machines without auxiliary water heating. Model and serial numbers are listed in the chart below. Recalled washing machines were manufactured between December 2006 and February 2010. The model and serial numbers are located on the bottom right side and on the bottom door frame of the washers.

GE Infrastructure Sensing Recalls Commercial CO2 and Temperature Sensors Due to Fire Hazard
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: GE Telaire Airestat and Carrier Single Beam Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and Temperature Sensors
Units: About 9,400 units
Distributor: GE Infrastructure Sensing Inc., of Billerica, Mass.
Hazard: The CO2 and temperature sensors can overheat, posing a fire hazard.
Incidents/Injuries: GE has received three reports in which a cracked capacitor caused the product to overheat and smoke. No injuries have been reported.
Description: This recall involves GE Telaire Airestat CO2 and temperature sensors with model numbers T8010, T8010-C, T8011, T8011-C, T5010, T5010-C, T5011 and T5011-C and Carrier Single Beam CO2 and temperature sensors with model numbers 33ZCT55CO2 and 33ZCT56CO2. The sensors are sold for commercial use and are wall-mounted. The sensors have a Telaire, Carrier, or no logo in front of the unit. The model number is not found on the sensor. Determining if a sensor is included in this recall requires inspection of the internal components of the unit.
Distributed by: Carrier, Automated Components Incorporated (ACI), Devices Inc., Direct Digital Controls, Trane, Alps Control Inc., ATS Control Management Inc. and KMC Controls between November 2000 and March 2005 for between $150 and $200. The recalled sensor was distributed for use in commercial buildings.

Remedy: Building owners should immediately contact GE Infrastructure Sensing for instructions on how to determine if a sensor is included in this recall and if it can be used while awaiting a replacement sensor. Only authorized maintenance personnel should follow these instructions. Building owners with recalled sensors will receive a free replacement sensor.

GE Recalls Ranges Due to Fire and Burn Hazards
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: GE Profile(tm) Freestanding Dual Fuel Ranges
Units: About 28,000
Manufacturer: GE Consumer & Industrial, of Louisville, Ky.
Hazard: The wiring in the rear of the range can overheat, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: GE is aware of 47 reports of overheated wiring, including 33 reports of wiring that caught fire. Of these, one fire caused structural damage to the home and there have been 14 reports of minor property damage. No injuries have been reported.
Description: This recall involves GE Profile 30" Freestanding Duel Fuel ranges. The ranges were sold in white, black, bisque and stainless steel. The following model and serial numbers can be found on the left inside corner of the bottom drawer.
