Moonstruck Chocolate Co. of Portland, Oregon is voluntarily recalling their 4 piece Cream Cone Chocolate Truffle Collection and the 12 piece Chocolate Malted (or Malt) Cream Cone Chocolate Truffles, because they may contain undeclared peanut butter. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The 4 piece Cream Cone Chocolate Truffle Collection and 12 piece Chocolate Malted (or Malt) Cream Cone Chocolate Truffles products were distributed through Moonstruck Company owned Moonstruck Chocolate Cafés, direct delivery from moonstruckchocolate.com and through various retailers nationwide. The recalled Chocolate Malted (or Malt) Cream Cone Chocolate Truffles can be found in Moonstruck’s 4 Piece Cream Cone Chocolate Truffle Collection and in the 12 piece Chocolate Malted (or Malt) Cream Cone Chocolate Truffle box.

The products are coded with Best if enjoyed by: 11/2/2010 through 11/15/2010. The Cream Cone Chocolate Truffle Collection contains 4 cream cones in a box with UPC code of 711175011042, and the 12 piece Chocolate Malted (or Malt) Cream Cone Chocolate Truffle is packaged 12 pieces in a box with a UPC code of 711175103549. The 4 Piece Cream Cone Chocolate Truffle Collection contains one Chocolate Malted (or Malt) Cream Cone Chocolate Truffle which may contain peanut butter. The 12 piece Chocolate Malt Cream Cone Chocolate Truffle contains 12 pieces which may contain peanut butter.

No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that some Chocolate Malted (or Malt) Cream Cones Chocolate Truffles inadvertently contained the milk chocolate and peanut butter French butter cream filling normally used in Moonstruck’s Peanut Butter Cream Cone Chocolate Truffle. Nutritional Resources Announces a Nationwide Voluntary Recall of Healthwise Cream of Mushroom Soup Due to Possible Health Risk

As a precautionary measure, Nutritional Resources, Inc announced, it is voluntarily recalling one production code of Healthwise Cream of Mushroom Soup because an ingredient used in the product has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. Salmonella is a common food borne pathogen that can cause severe illnesses, including fever, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. While most individuals recover in three to five days without medical intervention, the infection can be life-threatening to young children, the elderly and those with compromised immune systems. Consumers with any of these symptoms should call their physician. For more information on Salmonella, please visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Website at http://www.cdc.gov1.

The product subject to this recall was distributed nationwide in foil lined pouches identified as Mushroom Soup marked with the Lot number 22267 on the front of the pouch. The product is sold in physician’s offices and on the internet.

There have been no reports of illnesses associated with the identified product, and no other varieties or types of flavors of products made by Nutritional Resources, Inc. are affected by this recall.

The mushroom soup product was made using Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein (HVP), recalled by Basic Food Flavors Inc., Las Vegas, Nevada because it may be contaminated with salmonella

Nutritional Resources, Inc is working closely with the FDA to conduct this recall.

Unilever Issues Allergy Alert on Wheat in a Limited Number of Tubs of Breyers® Ice Cream

Unilever United States, Inc., of Englewood Cliffs, NJ, in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), is voluntarily recalling a limited number of tubs of Breyers® ice cream because it was mispackaged and may contain undeclared wheat. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat run the risk of allergic reaction if they consume this product.

On a limited number of tubs, the lid describes the product as "Breyers® All Natural Cookies & Cream" ice cream, and the tub portion of the package describes the product as "Breyers® All Natural Mint Chocolate Chip" ice cream. The product inside of the tub is "All Natural Cookies & Cream." The ingredient statement on the tub does not declare wheat, which is an ingredient of the Cookies & Cream product.

The mispackaged ice cream product was distributed in Alabama, Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Trinidad and Virginia through retail stores in these locations and adjoining areas. The affected product is being recalled from consumers and retailer store shelves, back rooms and warehouses.

The affected mispackaged product was distributed in 1.5-quart (1.41L) paperboard tubs marked with UPC # 077567254245 located on the side of the tub and in combination with "Best If Used By" dates of FEB1711GH, FEB1811GH and FEB1911GH located on the bottom of the tub.

The allergy alert and recall relates only to the above mentioned mispackaged Breyers® ice cream. No other Breyers® ice cream products are affected.

No adverse reactions have been reported to date. In addition to working in cooperation with the FDA, the company is also issuing an alert through the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network.

The recall was initiated after the company received a few consumer complaints about the mispackaged product. It was determined that product containing wheat was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of wheat in the ingredient list on the tub.

Consumers who have purchased the mispackaged Breyers® ice cream with UPC # 077567254245 and in combination with "Best If Used By" dates of FEB1711GH, FEB1811GH and FEB1911GH are urged to discard it immediately and contact the company at 1-877-270-7402 for a full refund.
