Units: About 1,800

Distributor: Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores, of Hudson, Ohio

Hazard: Strangulation can occur when the lifting loop slides off the side of the blind and a child's neck becomes entangled on the free-standing loop, or if a child places his/her neck between the lifting loop and the roll-up blind material.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: This recall involves all bamboo roll-up blinds with valances. The blinds were sold in two sizes: 36"x72" and 48"x72."

Sold exclusively at: Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores nationwide between April 2009 and December 2009. The 36"x72" blinds were sold for $25 and the 48"x72" blinds for $30.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the roll-up blinds and return the product to the nearest Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores for a full refund.

Name of Product: Paradigm Cinema 70 CT Subwoofers

Units: About 2,200

Importer: Paradigm Electronics, of Ontario, Canada

Hazard: The subwoofer can overheat when the speaker system is played at high outputs for an extended period of time, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received one report of a subwoofer overheating causing minor property damage to the carpet beneath the speaker. No injuries have been reported.

Description: This recall involves subwoofer speakers sold as part of the Paradigm Cinema 70 CT 120 volt and Paradigm Cinema 70 CT 230 volt system. The speakers have a black finish and serial numbers beginning with 111028 and higher. The serial number is located on the amp panel on the back of the subwoofer. The speaker system includes two front speakers, two rear speakers, a center channel and subwoofer. Subwoofers with an amperage rating of 1.25A L 250 volt are not included in this recall. The amperage rating is located on the back panel of the subwoofer.

Sold at: Small specialty stores and independent audio products dealers nationwide and online at Amazon.com from July 2009 through August 2010 for about $700.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled speakers and contact Paradigm for a repair kit. The kit contains a replacement fuse and detailed instructions on how to remove the fuse and install a new one. Consumers will also receive a revised fuse rating label to be applied directly over the original label.

Nationwide Milk Allergen Recall of Kroger 'Meals Made Simple Shrimp Linguini'

/PRNewswire/ -- Kroger (product distributor) and Contessa Premium Foods, Inc. (product manufacturer) are recalling 24 ounce bags of Kroger brand Meals Made Simple Shrimp Linguini, because it may contain undeclared milk product. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk products run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The Kroger brand Meals Made Simple Shrimp Linguini was distributed to all divisions of Kroger's retail stores.

All units of Kroger brand Meals Made Simple Shrimp Linguini (UPC 1111097756) product are impacted by this recall.

Only one adverse reaction has been reported as associated with this product to date.

This recall was initiated after Contessa Premium Foods, Inc. discovered that the Kroger brand Meals Made Simple Shrimp Linguini included an ingredient labeled as "Natural Flavors" that may have been constituted using milk or milk byproducts. Subsequent investigation indicates that this ingredient was included in the product at very small amounts but was not otherwise indicated on the allergen warning statement.

Consumers who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk products and have purchased the 24 ounce bags of Kroger brand Meals Made Simple Shrimp Linguini are urged to either contact Contessa Premium Foods, Inc. at 888-832-8000 Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Hazard: An "S" hook on the chain connecting the fixture to the ceiling can straighten when subjected to high impact forces, resulting in the light fixture falling. This poses an injury hazard to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received three reports of light fixtures having one chain detached or the fixture falling. No injuries have been reported.

Description: This recall involves the AYC or HBAYC model chain set for use in a gymnasium or similar recreational facility with one of the following Metalux commercial light fixtures: F-Bay HB/2HB; F-Bay 2HBHD; F-Bay HBE; F-Bay HBHT; F-Bay HBI; F-Bay HBL; F-Bay 2HE Series 2HE; Arctic Bay AB; or Arctic Bay ABI.

Conair Recalls BabylissPro Compact Hair Dryers Due to Laceration Hazard

Hazard: The spinning fan within the hair dryer can break apart, striking the hair dryer's plastic shell. This causes the plastic to shatter, creating a laceration hazard.

Incidents/Injuries: Conair has received 16 reports of the fan breaking causing the plastic shell to shatter. The company has also received reports of the hair dryers sparking and smoking. One person sought medical attention for a laceration to the hand, seven people reported minor cuts.

Description: This recall involves the BabylissPro 052 Series Professional Compact Hair Dryer. The hair dryer is sold under the brand names Babyliss(r) Pro Mighty Mini, Babyliss(r) Pro Nano Titanium(TM), Babyliss(r) Pro Porcelain Ceramic, BabylissPro TT(r) Tourmaline and BabylissPro TT(r) Tourmaline Titanium. My-A & Co Recalls Ground Black Pepper Double Golden Fish 3.5oz Jars Due to Salmonella Contamination

MY-A & CO. of Cheverly, MD is recalling its 3.5oz jars of Ground Black Pepper Double Golden Fish because they may be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections. (i.e. infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

The product comes in a 3.5oz plastic jar with no product codes on the jars. The recalled products were distributed in retail stores in 11 states, (GA, TX, IL, MD, VA, NC, OH, NY, MA, ME, FL).

The contamination was discovered after a routine inspection by the State of New York Department of Agriculture revealed the presence of Salmonella in some 3.5oz jars of Ground Black Pepper.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem. Consumers who have purchased the 3.5oz jars of Ground Black Pepper are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Dive Computers Recalled by Mares Due to Drowning Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Mares Nemo Air Dive Computers

Units: About 600 in the United States, 140 in Canada and 15 in Puerto Rico

Distributor: Mares USA, of Boca Raton, Fla.

Hazard: An O-ring in the high pressure air connector can fail and leak air, causing a continuous but slow loss of breathing gas, which could require a diver to surface quickly, posing a drowning hazard to divers.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: This recall involves the Mares Nemo Air Dive Computer, Nemo Air Dive Computer with Compass, Mares High Pressure Hose with Quick Connector for Nemo Air, and Quick Connector Assembly for Nemo Air. These computers have a digital screen which allows scuba divers to measure the time and depth of a dive and process other information to help divers determine safe dive times and ascent rates.

Sold by: Specialty dive shops nationwide from July 2008 through July 2009 for between $800 and $900 (U.S.) and between $880 and $990 (Canadian).

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled dive computer and connectors, and return the products to their authorized Mares dive shop for a free replacement O-ring connector assembly. The O-rings in some units may already have been replaced, but this recall requires replacing the metal quick connector fitting at the end of the high pressure air hose that holds the O-ring. Replacement connector assemblies have a groove machined around the middle of the fitting, but recalled units do not. All consumers should take their Nemo Air dive computers to a Mares dive shop to confirm whether this connector fitting has been replaced.

Description: This recall involves Kuuma IR Stow and Go barbecue grills. The rectangle grill is stainless steel with the word "Kuuma" embossed on the front. The grill's main housing measures 18 ½ inches long x 8 ½ inches tall x 10 inches deep. Model number 83726 is printed on the barcode label affixed to the packaging.

Mccormick & Company Recalls Mccormick Fajitas Seasoning Mix Due To Unlabeled Wheat And Milk Ingredients

McCormick & Company, Incorporated (NYSE:MKC) has announced a voluntary recall of McCormick Fajitas Seasoning Mix, with UPC Code 5210002121 and “BEST BY” dates of JAN 16 12 AH and JAN 16 12 CH. McCormick Fajitas Seasoning Mix packages with these date codes contain undeclared wheat and milk ingredients. People who have allergies to wheat or milk run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.

The McCormick Fajita Seasoning Mix packages were distributed to grocery stores nationally beginning on February 15, 2010. The product is available in 1.12 oz. pouches, and the date code is found printed in black on the back, at the bottom of the pouch. The “BEST BY” dates of JAN1612AH and CH are the only date codes affected by the recall.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that product was mispackaged, and as a result, the ingredient statement on the package did not list wheat and milk as ingredients.

No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date. No other McCormick products are involved in this recall.

All grocery outlets that sell McCormick Fajitas Seasoning Mix packages have been notified to remove the affected product (UPC Code 5210002121 and a “BEST BY” date of JAN1612AH and JAN1612CH) from their shelves immediately. Consumers do not need to return the product to the store where it was purchased. Instead, consumers are urged to contact McCormick’s Consumer Affairs team at 1-800-632-5847, weekdays from 9:30 AM to 9:00 PM, or weekends from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM (Eastern Time), for a replacement or full refund, as well as instructions on what to do with the product.

This recall is being made with the knowledge of the Food and Drug Administration. The company is also issuing an alert through the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network.

They include "Animals" (item number 059174), "Numbers" (item number 059175) and "Colors" (item number 059176). The books were also sold as a three-book set (item number 059173). The name "Gund" and the item number are located on the back of the books. The books measure 4 1/2 inches by 7 inches.

US Oftalmi Announces Voluntary Recall of the Camolyn Eye Drops Product Line, and Fisiolin Nasal Drops

US Oftalmi, of Hallandale, Florida, announced today that it is conducting a voluntary nationwide recall of all Over-the-Counter Eye Drops and Nasal Drops. Products are packaged in 15mL plastic bottles and were distributed nationwide to food and drug distributors for retail.

This recall is being initiated due to conditions at the manufacturing facility that cannot assure the sterility of the products. Products that are non-sterile have the potential to cause eye infections, which may be sight threatening.

Based on its investigation to date, US Oftalmi believes the likelihood of users experiencing a serious adverse reaction is remote. However, the company is taking a conservative approach and is conducting the recall in the best interest of its customers. This recall is being made with the knowledge of the Food and Drug Administration.

No adverse effects, illness or injuries have been reported to date. Foria International Recalls Women's Peacoats Due to Violation of Federal Flammability Standard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Women's Peacoats

Units: About 800

Importer: Foria International Inc., of City of Industry, Calif.

Hazard: The peacoats fail to meet the federal flammability standard for wearing apparel and pose a risk of burn injury.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: This recall involves women's peacoats that are double-breasted and have long sleeves. They are made from 100 percent cotton fleece in large blue and white plaid print. "Authentic" is printed on the label at the center back neckline of the garments.

Sold at: Bass Pro Shops nationwide from October 2009 through January 2010 for about $60.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled coats immediately and return them to Foria International for a full refund of retail price including shipping. Foria International address is 18689 Arenth Avenue, City of Industry, CA 91748.

Units: About 7,000

Importer: Hammary Furniture Co., of Lenoir, N.C.

Hazard: The surface coating paint on the furniture could contain excessive levels of lead in violation of the federal lead paint standard.

Furniture manufactured since April 2009 will have a label that specifies the date of manufacture, the item number, the country of origin, a product description and the name "Hammary Furniture." This label is located on the unfinished back of the item or, if the back is finished, on the underside. Products manufactured earlier than April 2009 will not have any identifiable markings on them. Kroger Recalls Two Seasonings Due to Possible Health Risk

The Kroger Co. said recently it is recalling Kroger California Seasoning Blend Garlic Powder and Kroger Special Seasoning Blend Lemon Pepper sold in its retail stores because the Company has been made aware by a supplier that an ingredient in the product may have been contaminated with Salmonella.

Stores under the following names in the 31 states where Kroger operates are included in this recall: Kroger, Ralphs, Fred Meyer, Food 4 Less, Fry’s, King Soopers, Smith’s, Dillons, QFC, City Market, Foods Co., Jay C, Scott’s, Owen’s, Baker's, Gerbes, Hilander and Pay Less.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with the Kroger products.

Kroger is recalling the following items:

* Kroger California Seasoning Blend Garlic Powder sold in 2.5-ounce jars with code dates of DEC0312PS2 and DEC0412PS2 under the following UPC code: 1111066599
* Kroger Special Seasoning Blend Lemon Pepper sold in 2.25-ounce jars with code dates of NOV0512PS2, DEC0312PS2 and DEC2812PS2 under the following UPC code: 1111074492

Customers who have purchased the above products should not consume them and should return them to a store for a full refund or replacement.

Remote Control Kits for Electric Fireplaces and Stoves Recalled by Dimplex North America Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Remote Control Kits for Electric Fireplaces and Stoves

Units: About 700,000

Importer: Dimplex North America, of Ontario, Canada

Hazard: The plug-in wall unit can overheat, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: Dimplex has received about 5,000 reports of the plug-in wall units overheating including 19 reports of damage beyond the remote control and one report of a house fire in Columbus, Ohio that resulted in considerable property damage.

Description: The recalled remote control kits are used with Dimplex, Electraflame, Symphony, Optiflame, Electralog and Charmglow brand electric fireplaces, stoves and fireplace inserts. They include a black or dark gray hand-held remote control and also a black or dark gray wall unit that plugs into an electrical wall outlet. Recalled model numbers include 47-1001, 47-1010-R and APT-1315. The model number is printed on either the plug-in unit or the hand-held remote control. The fireplace or stove's brand name is printed on both units.

Sold at: Mass merchandise, home improvement, specialty fireplace and furniture retailers from January 1998 through December 2008 for between $200 and $1,500 for the fireplaces and stoves. This recall includes remote control kits subsequently replaced under warranty.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the remote control kits, unplug the power cord from the remote control kit's wall unit, remove the wall unit from the electrical outlet and contact Dimplex for a free replacement kit. Consumers can continue to operate the fireplace or stove by plugging the fireplace or stove's electrical cord directly into an electrical outlet.

McCormick Recall Due to Possible Health Risk from HVP Ingredient Expands to Include Additional "Best By" Dates

McCormick & Company, Incorporated (NYSE:MKC) is expanding a March 5, 2010 recall to include additional "Best By" dates of products manufactured with HVP (hydrolyzed vegetable protein) supplied by Basic Food Flavors of Las Vegas, Nevada, because the ingredient has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

"Consumption of products containing Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms) endocarditis and arthritis."

To date, no illnesses have been associated with these McCormick products. For updated information, go to the CDC and FDA websites.

Publix Issues Voluntary Recall on Four Seasoning Mixes

Publix Super Markets is issuing a voluntary recall for four (4) varieties of seasoning mixes. The products have been manufactured with HVP (hydrolyzed vegetable protein) supplied by Basic Food Flavors of Las Vegas, Nevada. The HVP may be contaminated with Salmonella. Consumption of products containing Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly persons and others with weakened immune systems. The recalled products include all lot codes for the following items:
