Organic Food Bar, Inc. of Fullerton, CA is issuing a voluntary recall on the specific listed lots of RAW Organic Food Bars listed below, because they may contain undeclared peanut proteins from cashew butter supplied by one of the vendors. These bars are being recalled because they are made with the same lot of cashew butter that was used in previously tested chocolatey chocolate chips bars. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts should return these lots to the place of purchase.

RAW Organic Food Bar lots mentioned below were distributed nationally in USA. The product reached consumers through retail stores, mail order, direct delivery etc. The affected products listed below were shipped in 12 pack cartons to each outlet or direct to consumers.

The voluntary recall is being initiated since the product may contain peanut allergen through cross contamination of cashew butter provided to us by our former supplier.

Doctor's CarbRite Diet Issues Allergy Alert on Certain Chocolate Brownie Flavored Bars

Doctor’s CarbRite Diet of New Brunswick, NJ is voluntarily recalling all lots of the 2 oz. Chocolate Brownie Doctor’s CarbRite Diet Bar that are missing the allergen statement, “Allergy Alert: Made on equipment that also processes soy, milk, egg, peanuts and tree nuts”, due to possible peanut allergen cross-contamination. This allergy statement would be found at the end of the Ingredients list. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to a specific type of allergen (e.g., peanuts, tree nuts {chestnuts, brazil nuts, walnuts, hazelnuts, pecans, pine nuts, cashews}, eggs, and sulfites) run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The recalled lots of the Chocolate Brownie Doctor’s CarbRite Diet Bar extend to all fifty states and the bar was offered through a variety of distribution channels including health food stores, gyms, and internet-based e-commerce sites.

This recall affects only the Chocolate Brownie flavor for Doctor’s CarbRite Diet Bars, those marked with the UPC # 0 39442 08112 4.

Chocolate Brownie Doctor’s CarbRite Diet Bars have been produced for over 10 years for sale without any serious adverse events or allergic reactions reported in the United States.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the certain Chocolate Brownie flavored bars were distributed in packaging that omitted the appropriate allergen warnings: “Allergy Alert: Made on equipment that also processes soy, milk, egg, peanuts and tree nuts.” Examination of current lots of Chocolate Brownie revealed that the correct allergen warnings do appear.

This recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the Food and Drug Administration.

Consumers who purchased any one of the affected lot numbers in question are asked to return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund or credit. McCormick & Company Recalls Golden Dipt® Tempura Seafood Batter Mix Due To Unlabeled Milk Ingredient

McCormick & Company, Incorporated (NYSE:MKC) has announced a voluntary recall of Golden Dipt® Tempura Seafood Batter Mix 8 OZ, with UPC Code 4123470132 and “BEST BY” date of OCT 08 12 H. A very limited number of packages of Golden Dipt® Tempura Seafood Batter Mix with this date code contain an undeclared milk ingredient. People who have an allergy to milk run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.

The recalled cartons of Golden Dipt® Tempura Seafood Batter Mix were distributed to grocery stores in Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Wisconsin as well as internationally to the Cayman Islands, beginning on October 21, 2010. The affected product is packaged in 8 OZ cartons, and the date code is found printed in white ink on the bottom of the carton.

The recall was initiated after the discovery of a packaging error that resulted in a pouch of Cajun Style Fish Fry mix (which contains a milk ingredient) being packaged in the Golden Dipt® Tempura Seafood Batter Mix carton. The ingredient statement on the package does not list milk as an ingredient.

The “BEST BY” date of OCT 08 12 H is the only date code affected by the recall. No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date and no other McCormick products are involved in this recall.

All grocery outlets that sell Golden Dipt® Tempura Seafood Batter Mix are being notified to remove the affected product (UPC Code 4123470132 and date code BEST BY OCT 08 12 H) from their shelves immediately. Consumers do not need to return the product to the store where it was purchased. Instead, consumers are urged to contact McCormick’s Consumer Affairs team at 1-800-632-5847, weekdays from 9:30 AM to 9:00 PM, or weekends from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM (Eastern Time), for a replacement or full refund, as well as instructions on what to do with the product.

This recall is being made with the knowledge of the Food and Drug Administration. The Company is also issuing an alert through the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network.

This recall is the result of notification by our supplier of these products that there may have been a potential peanut allergen cross-contamination during the manufacturing of soy flour, which is an ingredient in these products. Brand Castle, LLC Issues Allergy Alert On Undeclared Egg In Icing Of Licensed Rice Krispies Treats Holiday Village Kit Distributed Through Michaels Retail Stores Only

Brand Castle, LLC is recalling its licensed Rice Krispies Treats Holiday Village Kit. This recall was initiated because the icing component of the kit contains undeclared egg; no other components of the kit are affected. People who have allergies to egg run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.

Approximately 20,000 of the recalled Holiday Village Kits were distributed to Michaels retail stores in the U.S. and Canada. This Holiday Village Kit is not produced by the Kellogg Company, although the product does contain Kellogg’s Rice Krispies. There is no labeling issue with the Rice Krispies.

The product comes in a 23.5-ounce cardboard package, marked with a UPC Code of 8-44527-02106-9 and is identified with the following expiration dates: 15 Oct 2012; 16 Oct 2012; and 02 Nov 2012.

One (1) allergic reaction has been reported to date.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that an incorrect icing pouch was packaged with the Holiday Village Kits. This recall is limited to the Holiday Village Kit and does not include the Train, Snowman or Holiday House kits.

Hostess Brands, Inc. Issues Voluntary Recall of Hostess® Mini Muffins (Chocolate Chip variety) Due to Unlabeled Allergen

Hostess Brands, Inc. of Irving, Texas, is voluntarily recalling Chocolate Chip Mini Muffins multi-packs sold in retail stores throughout the United States with the knowledge of the FDA. Some of these multi-packs may contain muffins with undeclared walnuts, which is an allergen. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to walnuts run the risk of serious illness or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

To date, no incidents of illness have been reported. People who do not have walnut allergies can eat the product without concern. The packaging does contain an allergen advisory statement: "May contain walnuts."

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that during manufacturing some Banana Nut Mini Muffins were inadvertently inserted into the Chocolate Chip Mini Muffin packaging. Normally, Chocolate Chip Mini Muffins do not contain walnuts. Subsequent investigation indicates the problem was caused by operator error in the packaging process.

This error was limited to one day’s production, and no other HOSTESS® products are part of this recall.

General Mills Issues Voluntary Class One Recall of One Day's Production of Nature Valley Dark Chocolate Flavor Granola Thins

General Mills is voluntarily recalling a single day's production of Nature Valley Dark Chocolate Flavor Granola Thins because of a labeling issue. Product produced on this date may have been packaged incorrectly, and may contain allergens not listed on the box's ingredient label, specifically peanut butter.

A production error resulted in a limited number of properly-labeled, individually-wrapped Nature Valley Peanut Butter Flavor Granola Thins packages being inserted into 10-count boxes labeled as Nature Valley Dark Chocolate Flavor Granola Thins.

There have been no reports of allergic reactions or illnesses associated with this product, however, the possibility of an unlabeled allergen makes this a Class One recall.

This voluntary recall includes only 10-count boxes of Nature Valley Dark Chocolate Flavor Granola Thins with one Better if Used By date printed on the top of the box:

Individually labeled foil packages of Nature Valley Peanut Butter Flavor Granola Thins are visibly different from the Nature Valley Dark Chocolate Flavor Granola Thins product depicted on the incorrect box. Rather than containing Nature Valley Dark Chocolate Flavor Granola Thins, the box could contain Nature Valley Peanut Butter Flavor Granola Thins.

Consumers allergic to peanuts, or who are unsure of whether they are allergic to peanuts, should not consume Nature Valley Granola Thins products from 10-count boxes bearing the Better if Used By date 05JUN2011 YO 12 on the top of the box, and should contact General Mills for replacement or a full refund.

Bay Valley Foods is voluntarily recalling 10.5 oz cans of Chef's Cupboard Chicken with Rice Soup because some cans are mislabeled and may contain Vegetarian Vegetable Soup. The mislabeled product contains undeclared egg and wheat. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs or wheat run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The “BEST BY” dates of JAN1612AH and CH are the only date codes affected by the recall.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that product was mispackaged, and as a result, the ingredient statement on the package did not list wheat and milk as ingredients.

No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date. No other McCormick products are involved in this recall.

All grocery outlets that sell McCormick Fajitas Seasoning Mix packages have been notified to remove the affected product (UPC Code 5210002121 and a “BEST BY” date of JAN1612AH and JAN1612CH) from their shelves immediately. Consumers do not need to return the product to the store where it was purchased. Instead, consumers are urged to contact McCormick’s Consumer Affairs team at 1-800-632-5847, weekdays from 9:30 AM to 9:00 PM, or weekends from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM (Eastern Time), for a replacement or full refund, as well as instructions on what to do with the product.

This recall is being made with the knowledge of the Food and Drug Administration. The company is also issuing an alert through the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network.

Harry London Candies, Inc. announces a voluntary and limited recall of Harry London Chocolate Pecan Caramel Stars due to an undeclared allergen

Harry London today announced it is voluntarily recalling 3310 individual units of the 4.62 ounce Harry London Chocolate Pecan Caramel Stars because they have not been labeled to include Wheat, FD&C colors Yellow #5, Red # 40 and Blue #1 as an ingredient. All Harry London Chocolate Pecan Caramel Stars sold after 28 December 2009 have the correct labeling.

No illnesses or injuries have been reported to date. Harry London discovered the error during a routine quality control process check. The product is produced with a Pecan flavored wheat germ nut that is made with wheat and FD&C colorings, which were not stated in the ingredient disclosure label.

Although in all cases the package has an allergen statement indicating the product was manufactured on equipment shared with peanuts, tree nuts, soybeans, milk, eggs, and wheat, Harry London is undertaking this voluntary recall out of an abundance of caution. This voluntary recall does not affect any other products from Harry London.

The product being recalled is the Harry London Chocolate Pecan Caramel Stars Lot code number 9238-1

Publix Issues Allergy Alert on Pecans in Publix Pumpkin Pecan Streusel Pie

(BUSINESS WIRE)--Publix Super Markets is issuing a voluntary recall for Publix Pumpkin Pecan Streusel Pie, because it was mislabeled and may contain undeclared pecans. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to pecans run the risk of allergic reaction if they consume this product. Product was prepared at Publix stores for retail sale between November and December 2009. The recalled product has a UPC number of: 002-95118-20399-7 and is packaged in a 30 ounce plastic container. The name of the product describes the product as “Pumpkin Pecan Streusel Pie.” The ingredient statement on the label does not declare pecan, which is an ingredient in the pie. The mislabeled pies were distributed in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina.

“As part of our commitment to food safety and in cooperation with the FDA, we are issuing this voluntarily recall,” said Maria Brous, Publix director of media and community relations. “Since customers may still have these pies in their homes, we wanted to take every precaution to make them aware of the pecan as an ingredient. Faribault Foods announced that it is recalling Health Valley Organic No Salt Added Split Pea Soup (15 oz.) with the lot codes 22JUL2011, 18AUG2011, and 11SEP2011 because of the presence of an undeclared dairy allergen. This soup contains butter and potatoes, which are not listed on the ingredient statements of the affected lots. No other lot codes of this product or any other Health Valley product is affected in any way.

Consumers who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk protein or potatoes run the potential risk of a health problem or illness if they consume these lots of product.

No confirmed illnesses have been reported to date.

This recall was initiated after it was discovered that the labels on these particular products did not reveal that there is MILK in the product. Further investigation has revealed the problem was caused by a temporary breakdown in the company’s packaging process.

Production of these products has been suspended until Snax In Pax, Inc. is certain the problem has been corrected.
