The Pictsweet Company Announces a Voluntary Recall of Frozen Green Peas Due to Possible Health Risk

The Pictsweet Company of Bells, TN today announced a voluntary recall of certain codes of store brand products containing frozen Green Peas after the company learned that some of the packages may contain glass fragments, which may cause injury if ingested.

Products subject to this recall were distributed only to Kroger stores in the Southeast United States and Walmart stores throughout the United States and include the following items:

* Kroger 12 ounce Green Peas (UPC 11110 89736)
Production Codes of 1440BU, 1440BV, 1440BW, and 1600BD
* Kroger 12 ounce Peas and Carrots (UPC 11110 89741)
Production Codes of 1960BD and 1960BE
* Great Value 12 ounce Steamable Sweet Peas (UPC 78742 08369)
Best by Dates of July 20, 2012; July 21, 2012
* Great Value 12 ounce Steamable Mixed Vegetables (UPC 78742 08026)
Best by Date of July 15, 2012

No injuries have been reported to date. While no injuries have been reported, Pictsweet is advising the public that product from these packages indicated above should not be consumed. Consumers who have purchased the above product should return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

White Tiger Outdoor Folding Chairs Recalled Due to Fall Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of Product: Folding wooden chairs

Units: About 7,000

Importer: Fred Meyer Inc., of Portland, Ore.

Manufacturer: White Tiger Traders Co. Ltd, of Taiwan

Hazard: The wooden frame of the chairs can break, posing a fall hazard to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: The Kroger Co. and White Tiger have received three reports of chairs breaking, resulting in minor injuries including back and shoulder pain, sprains and contusions.

Description: This recall includes wooden folding chairs. The chairs were sold individually and as part of a three-piece set that included one table and two chairs. "HD Outdoor" is printed on the chair's packaging.

Sold at: Kroger, Fred Meyer, Ralph's, Fry's, Smith's, Dillon's, Gerbes, City Market, and Baker's stores nationwide from February 2009 through December 2009 individually for about $50 and as part of the set that sold for about $130.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled chairs and return them to the store where purchased for a full refund.

Nationwide Milk Allergen Recall of Kroger 'Meals Made Simple Shrimp Linguini'

/PRNewswire/ -- Kroger (product distributor) and Contessa Premium Foods, Inc. (product manufacturer) are recalling 24 ounce bags of Kroger brand Meals Made Simple Shrimp Linguini, because it may contain undeclared milk product. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk products run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The Kroger brand Meals Made Simple Shrimp Linguini was distributed to all divisions of Kroger's retail stores.

All units of Kroger brand Meals Made Simple Shrimp Linguini (UPC 1111097756) product are impacted by this recall.

Only one adverse reaction has been reported as associated with this product to date.

This recall was initiated after Contessa Premium Foods, Inc. discovered that the Kroger brand Meals Made Simple Shrimp Linguini included an ingredient labeled as "Natural Flavors" that may have been constituted using milk or milk byproducts. Subsequent investigation indicates that this ingredient was included in the product at very small amounts but was not otherwise indicated on the allergen warning statement.

Consumers who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk products and have purchased the 24 ounce bags of Kroger brand Meals Made Simple Shrimp Linguini are urged to either contact Contessa Premium Foods, Inc. at 888-832-8000 Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Kroger Recalls Two Seasonings Due to Possible Health Risk

The Kroger Co. said recently it is recalling Kroger California Seasoning Blend Garlic Powder and Kroger Special Seasoning Blend Lemon Pepper sold in its retail stores because the Company has been made aware by a supplier that an ingredient in the product may have been contaminated with Salmonella.

Stores under the following names in the 31 states where Kroger operates are included in this recall: Kroger, Ralphs, Fred Meyer, Food 4 Less, Fry’s, King Soopers, Smith’s, Dillons, QFC, City Market, Foods Co., Jay C, Scott’s, Owen’s, Baker's, Gerbes, Hilander and Pay Less.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with the Kroger products.

Kroger is recalling the following items:

* Kroger California Seasoning Blend Garlic Powder sold in 2.5-ounce jars with code dates of DEC0312PS2 and DEC0412PS2 under the following UPC code: 1111066599
* Kroger Special Seasoning Blend Lemon Pepper sold in 2.25-ounce jars with code dates of NOV0512PS2, DEC0312PS2 and DEC2812PS2 under the following UPC code: 1111074492

Customers who have purchased the above products should not consume them and should return them to a store for a full refund or replacement.

The Kroger Co. said today (February 27) it is recalling Kroger Onion Soup & Dip Mix and Kroger Beefy Onion Soup & Dip Mix sold in some of its retail stores because the Company has been made aware by a supplier that an ingredient in the product may have been contaminated with Salmonella.

Stores under the following names are included in this recall: Kroger, Dillons, Fry's, King Soopers, City Market, Smith's, Food 4 Less, Jay C, Scott's, Owen's, Baker's, Gerbes, Hilander and Pay Less.

Stores the company operates under the following names are not included in this recall:

Ralphs, Fred Meyer, QFC and Foods Co.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with the Kroger products.

* Kroger Onion Soup & Dip Mix sold in 2-ounce packages with sell-by dates from JAN 06 11 through FEB 17 11 under the following UPC code: 0001111073293

Morningstar Foods is voluntarily recalling 32-ounce Great Value Half & Half, UPC 6 05388 187 16 1, item code 1871600, plant code 21-031; 32-ounce Great Value 36% Heavy Whipping Cream, UPC 6 05388 187 18 5, item code 1871800, plant code 21-031; 32-ounce Kroger brand 36% Heavy Whipping Cream, UPC 0 11110 438 28 7, item code 4382900, plant code 21-031; and 64-ounce Wholesome Farms Chocolate Ice Cream Mix, UPC 0 74865 57 983 4 (if purchased in a multi-pack, the UPC code is 1 00 74865 57983 1), item code 5798300, plant code 21-031 because these products may contain soy protein. The individual cartons are printed with a “use by” date of December 16, 2009 for the Great Value items; December 16 and 17, 2009 for the Kroger item; and January 7, 2010 for the Wholesome Farms item. People who have a known allergy to soy protein may have a reaction to these products. Common symptoms of an allergic reaction include hives, swelling, shortness of breath, wheezing, vomiting and stomach or intestinal upset. If a consumer experiences any of the above symptoms, they should see their healthcare professional immediately. If left untreated, severe allergic reaction can be fatal. No reactions have been reported. The problem was discovered when consumers reported off-taste in some of these products.

The affected product was distributed to retail outlets in the following states: Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin. Morningstar Foods’ sales team is working with distributors to actively recover any affected product remaining on store shelves.

Urgent Food Recall Due to Undeclared Peanuts

/PRNewswire/ -- International Bazaar Inc. a Dayton, Ohio firm is voluntarily recalling a single lot of "Kroger Hazelnut Spread", packed in Italy by Nutkao S.r.L. The product has a March 2011 sell by date, is packaged in a plastic jar, contains 13 ounces of product and has a the UPC code 11110-87825. Consumers who have an allergy to peanuts may run the risk of a serious allergic reaction if they consume product containing such ingredients.

The recall applies only to the "Kroger Hazelnut Spread" with a "Sell By March 2011" date code. Approximately 65 cases were distributed to Kroger stores in as many as 16 states (Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia).

Nutkao received a complaint from 2 consumers in France that had an allergic reaction after consuming product from the same batch that was distributed under a different label. Testing revealed the product was found to contain trace amounts of peanuts. The Company has not received any reports of illness or allergic reactions caused by consuming Kroger Hazelnut Spread and has issued this recall as a precautionary measure. Consumers who are not allergic to peanuts face no safety risk.

The Kroger Co. said today it is recalling Kroger brand Super Kids Enriched White Sandwich Bread sold in 13 states because it may contain milk not listed on the label. Customers should return the product to stores for a refund or replacement.

People who are allergic to milk could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume this product. For consumers who are not allergic to milk, there is no safety issue with the product.

Kroger stores in the following states are included in this recall: Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. Kroger stores in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas are not included in the recall.

The recall also includes Jay C Food stores in Indiana and Food 4 Less stores in Illinois and Indiana. Other stores Kroger operates under different banner names are not included in this recall.

Kroger Expands Recall of Shelled Pistachios Due to Possible Health Risk

The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) said today it is adding other "Sell by" dates to its recall on Friday of Private Selection® Shelled Pistachios sold in its family of stores because the pistachios were supplied by Setton Farms and may be contaminated with Salmonella.

Stores under the following names in the 31 states where Kroger operates are included in this expanded recall: Kroger, Ralphs, Fred Meyer, Fry's, King Soopers, Smith's, Dillons, QFC, City Market, Foods Co., Jay C, Scott's, Owen's, Baker's, Gerbes, Hilander and Pay Less.

Food 4 Less stores the company operates did not receive any of the pistachios being recalled.

There have been no confirmed illnesses reported in connection with this product.

Kroger is recalling the following shelled pistachios:

* Private Selection Shelled Pistachios sold in 10-ounce containers with a "Sell by" date of JAN-14-10, FEB-10-10, FEB-11-10 and MAR-23-10 with this UPC Code: 11110 73615.

This is in addition to the following item Kroger recalled on Friday, March 27:

* Private Selection Shelled Pistachios sold in 10-ounce containers with a "Sell by" date of DEC-13-09 and DEC-14-09 with this UPC Code: 11110 73615.

Kroger Recalls Peanut Butter Bakery Cookies and Select Cakes Due to Possible Health Risk

The Kroger Co. said today it is recalling peanut butter store-baked and store-packaged cookies and select cakes sold in its family of stores because the products have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

Stores under the following names in the 31 states where Kroger operates are included in this recall: Kroger, Ralphs, Fred Meyer, Food 4 Less, Fry’s, King Soopers, Smith’s, Dillons, QFC, City Market, Foods Co., Jay C, Scott’s, Owen’s, Baker's, Gerbes, Hilander and Pay Less.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with the cookies and cakes.

Item Descriptions:

Kroger is recalling all packages of the following Kroger, Store-Brand and Private Selection store-baked and store-packaged cookies:

* Peanut Butter Cookies – Regular, Jumbo, Decorated, Iced, Gourmet, Mini and Sandwich cookies

Kroger Recalls Nut Topping Due to Possible Health Risk

The Kroger Co. said today it is recalling a nut topping sold in its family of retail stores because the product was associated with peanut butter supplied by Peanut Corporation of America and may be contaminated with Salmonella.

Stores under the following names in the 31 states where Kroger operates are included in this recall: Kroger, Ralphs, Fred Meyer, Food 4 Less, Fry's, King Soopers, Smith's, Dillons, QFC, City Market, Foods Co., Jay C, Scott's, Owen's, Baker's, Gerbes, Hilander and Pay Less.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with the nut topping.

Item Description:

Kroger is recalling the following items:

* Kroger Nut Topping sold in 2.25-ounce containers with a "Sell by" date of DEC-22-09 and earlier under the following UPC Code Number: 0001111074500.
* Ralphs Nut Topping sold in 2.25-ounce containers with a "Sell by" date of DEC-9-2009 and earlier under the following UPC Code Number: 0001111071444.
* Fred Meyer Nut Topping sold in 2.25-ounce containers with a "Sell by" date of DEC-21-09 and earlier under the following UPC Code Number: 0001111074507.

Customers who have purchased the above nut toppings should not consume these products and should return them to a store for a full refund or replacement.

The FDA has indicated that Peanut Corporation of America is the focus of its investigation into Salmonella-related illnesses that may be linked to contaminated peanut butter or peanut paste. For more information, please visit the FDA's website at www.fda.gov.

Kroger continues to follow FDA guidelines and, for the safety of customers, has withdrawn other products from sale that contain peanut butter ingredients implicated in this outbreak, as directed by the FDA and suppliers involved.

Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and/or abdominal pain. Kroger Recalls Additional Select Ice Cream Product Due to Possible Health Risk

The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) said today it is recalling the "Light" version of its Private Selection Light Peanut Butter Passion Ice Cream sold in select stores because the product was associated with peanut butter supplied by Peanut Corporation of America and may be contaminated with Salmonella. Stores under the following names are included in this recall: City Market, Fred Meyer, Fry's, King Soopers, QFC and Smith's. This is an expansion of a recall Kroger initiated Monday, January 19.

Stores the company operates under the following names did not receive any of the ice cream being recalled: Kroger, Ralphs, Dillons, Food 4 Less, Foods Co., Jay C, Scott's, Owen's, Baker's, Gerbes, Hilander and Pay Less.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with the ice cream.

* Private Selection Peanut Butter Passion Light Ice Cream sold in 1.75 quart (56-ounce containers under the UPC Code Number: 1111054016 with a "Sell by" date of 8-13-09 followed by 49-70.

This is in addition to the following items Kroger recalled on Monday, January 19:

* Private Selection Peanut Butter Passion Ice Cream sold in 1.75 quart (56-ounce) containers under the UPC Code Number: 0001111052816 with a "Sell by" date of 8-13-09 followed by 49-70. Please note this "Sell by" date corrects the "Sell by" date previously announced of 8-11-09.
* Private Selection Peanut Butter Passion Ice Cream sold in 48-ounce containers with a "Sell by" date of 9-13-09 under the following UPC Code Number: 0001111054437.

The ice cream was sold in City Market, Fred Meyer, Fry's, King Soopers, QFC and Smith's stores in the following states: Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

CSI USA, Inc. Issues Voluntary National Recall of Topical Acne Cream

CSI, USA, Inc. issued a voluntary nationwide consumer product recall of all lots of 1 ounce (28 g) tubes of 10% Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Cream with the following names: "DG Maximum Strength Acne Medicated Gel" (sold at Dollar General); "Kroger Acne Gel 10% Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Medication" (sold at Kroger); and "Equate: Medicated Acne Gel" (sold at Wal-Mart).

These products are being recalled because samples of the products were found to contain bacteria identified as "Burkholderia Cepacia," formerly known as Pseudomonas Cepacia.

After conducting a thorough assessment, the company concluded that the risk of illness in healthy individuals following use of this product is very low. However, there could be an increased health risk of infections for individuals with cuts, scrapes, rashes or other compromised skin conditions; or those with weakened or suppressed immune systems.

No consumer adverse health events related to this issue have been reported.

No other acne medications sold by Dollar General, Kroger or Wal-Mart are affected by this recall.

Barry Callebaut USA LLC Issues Allergen Alert on Undeclared Milk Protein in Kroger Value Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips

Barry Callebaut USA LLC is conducting a voluntary recall on its product sold by Kroger Stores under the brand "Kroger Value Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips", 12 oz., UPC Code is 11110–86603 and "sell by" date May 30, 2010, as the product may contain undeclared milk protein. The "sell by" date is found printed in black on the end of the bag. People with allergies or severe sensitivity to milk protein may be at risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The Kroger Value Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips subject to this recall were sold in Kroger stores in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.

This recall was determined necessary after it was identified by 3 consumers that packages of Kroger Value Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips may also contain chocolate chips with undeclared milk protein. The package ingredient label does not identify that the product may contain milk protein.

Vita Food Products Issues Alert Regarding Vita Nova Salmon
Code Date of 11/16/08 198, Purchased on July 22 or After


Vita Food Products, Inc. of Chicago, Illinois is notifying the public that twelve individual packages of Vita Nova Salmon, were sold at Kroger stores in Houston, Texas on or after July 22 of this year may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. In addition, 192 individual packages of this same product have either possibly been sold or are being offered for sale at various grocery stores in the Avenol, New Jersey metropolitan area. To date, no confirmed illnesses or complaints have been reported by customers , although the Company is closely monitoring the situation.

The product that is the subject of this public announcement and recall are packages (deep dark blue in color) of smoked salmon that bear the Vita logo in the upper left corner on the part of the packaging that is immediately visible to the consumer. Each package contains 4-10 bacon-style slices (total 3 oz.) of smoked salmon; the slices are contained in a vacuum pack within a box that is 4" wide by 7.5 " in length by 1/2 " in thickness. IMPORTANT: The Code Date of 11/16/08 198 is on the left end flap of each package. This announcement and recall only applies to packages that bear that CODE DATE.

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

If any consumer purchased a product with that CODE DATE from a retail store on or after July 22, 2008 he or she should not consume any of the Vita Nova Salmon product. Then, the Company asks that it be sealed in plastic bag or placed in some similar container and returned to the retailer from which it was purchased. The Company is asking that any person who has purchased the product with this CODE DATE call this telephone number 1-800-989-8482 . If you are experiencing any unusual or severe symptoms such as those described above, go to an emergency room immediately or contact your physician for immediate advice.

Bay Valley Foods Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Milk in Mislabeled Kroger Chicken Noodle Soup

Bay Valley Foods is recalling five cases (24 cans per case) of mislabeled Kroger Chicken Noodle Soup because it may contain undeclared milk. The cans actually contain Cream of Celery soup. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk are at risk if they consume these products. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this alert.

The recalled soup may have been distributed by Kroger to Dillon stores in Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.

The recalled product, Kroger Chicken Noodle Soup, comes in 10.5 ounce cans and is marked with lot code 52104098, and a "best before" date code of 40910 (April 9, 2010) that can be found on the bottom of the can. Consumers are urged to return the product to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.

Deli Chef Tri-Bean Salad Recalled From Some Kroger Stores

Inter-American Products, a division of The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR), today announced a voluntary recall on all codes of Deli Chef Tri-Bean Salad sold from store deli counters in some states because the product has the potential to be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium which can cause a potentially life threatening condition called botulism. Consumers should not consume this product even if it does not look or smell spoiled.

The Tri-Bean Salad was sold at deli counters in stores in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, New Mexico, Utah, Washington, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

No illnesses have been reported. No other salad products are affected by this recall.
