Le Creuset Recalls Glass Lids Due to Laceration Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of Product: Le Creuset glass lids

Units: About 1,800

Importer: Le Creuset of America Inc., of Early Branch, S.C.

Hazard: The glass lids can crack or break during use, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: Le Creuset has received five reports of lids breaking in use. No injuries have been reported.

Description: This recall involves Le Creuset glass lids sold after October 2010. The clear glass lids measure between about 9 inches (24 cm) and about 12 inches (30 cm) and have "Le Creuset" stamped on the metal handles. The affected models include: 24cm glass lid, 28cm glass lid, and 30cm glass lid (including 30cm glass lids sold as part of the Le Creuset Forged Hard-Anodized 30cm Shallow Casserole with Lid set.).

Sold at: Le Creuset and other retailers nationwide from October 2010 through January 2011 for $20 for individual glass lids and $160 when part of a casserole set.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should stop using these lids immediately and return them to Le Creuset for a full refund of the purchase price.

The Coca-Cola Company Announces Voluntary Withdrawal of Themed Drinking Glass

(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Coca-Cola Company has announced a voluntary withdrawal of 22,000 sets of themed drinking glasses for quality reasons. One glass, which is designed to look like a can of Coca-Cola®, did not meet our quality expectations. While recent tests indicated some cadmium in the decoration on the outside of the glass, the low levels detected do not pose a safety hazard or health threat.

The Coca-Cola Company has an unwavering commitment to quality, and at times we may withdraw products from the market for quality reasons, even if there is no safety concern or legal requirement to do so.

We apologize to our consumers for the inconvenience.

Description: The glass is a 16-oz. decorated glass that looks like a can of Coca-Cola®, with a red body and the Coca-Cola® design. It was sold as a package of four glasses – each glass representing a can of Coca-Cola®, Diet Coke®, Coca-Cola Zero® or Sprite®.

Units: About 22,000 were distributed.

Distribution: The glasses were sold in retails stores and online, including at Coca-Cola retail stores, coca-colastore.com and other locations. The glasses were sent to distribution centers throughout the United States.

Market Dates: The glasses have been in market since March 2010.

Return Procedures:

For Glasses Bought at Retail Stores: Consumers can visit www.thecoca-colacompany.com/contactus/glass beginning Nov. 30 for instructions on how to return the glasses and secure a full refund.

For Glasses Bought at the Coca-Cola Online Store: Consumers who purchased the glasses from the www.coca-colastore.com website will automatically receive a credit to their account.

Beginning Nov. 30, retailers and consumers also can call Coca-Cola Consumer Affairs at 1-800-438-2653 to get instructions on how to return the glassware and request a refund.

No other Coca-Cola glassware is involved in the withdrawal.

The Pictsweet Company Announces a Voluntary Recall of Frozen Green Peas Due to Possible Health Risk

The Pictsweet Company of Bells, TN today announced a voluntary recall of certain codes of store brand products containing frozen Green Peas after the company learned that some of the packages may contain glass fragments, which may cause injury if ingested.

Products subject to this recall were distributed only to Kroger stores in the Southeast United States and Walmart stores throughout the United States and include the following items:

* Kroger 12 ounce Green Peas (UPC 11110 89736)
Production Codes of 1440BU, 1440BV, 1440BW, and 1600BD
* Kroger 12 ounce Peas and Carrots (UPC 11110 89741)
Production Codes of 1960BD and 1960BE
* Great Value 12 ounce Steamable Sweet Peas (UPC 78742 08369)
Best by Dates of July 20, 2012; July 21, 2012
* Great Value 12 ounce Steamable Mixed Vegetables (UPC 78742 08026)
Best by Date of July 15, 2012

No injuries have been reported to date. While no injuries have been reported, Pictsweet is advising the public that product from these packages indicated above should not be consumed. Consumers who have purchased the above product should return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

The Gerson Company Recalls Glass Vases Due to Laceration Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of Product: 20" Glass Vases

Units: About 203,000 in the U.S. and 9,000 in Canada

Importer: The Gerson Company, of Olathe, Kan.

Hazard: The glass vases can break or fracture, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.

Injuries/Incidents: The firm has received nine reports of the vase shattering, including nine reports of lacerations to the hands.

Description: The recalled vases are made of clear glass and stand about 4" wide x 20" tall. The SKU# 405334 and UPC: 0-37916-88960-3 are printed on a label on the bottom of the vase.

Sold at: Michael's stores nationwide and in Canada from July 2006 through March 2010 for about $15.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled vase and discard them immediately. Contact the firm for a full refund.

Cub Foods® Brand Queen Olives Stuffed With Minced Pimientos Recalled Due To Possible Glass Contamination

CUB FOODS® is voluntarily recalling Cub Foods brand Queen Olives Stuffed with Minced Pimientos because the jars have the potential to be contaminated with glass. The affected product was sold at Cub Foods stores in Minnesota and Iowa.

There have been no reported injuries associated with the identified product. However, because the safety of customers is a top priority and out of an abundance of caution, Cub Foods has voluntarily recalled the product.

This product recall includes all:

Product Name and Description: Cub Foods® Queen Olives Stuffed with Minced Pimientos, 7 oz
UPC#: 41130-48488

Customers who have purchased the affected product should bring it back to a Cub Foods store location for a full refund or exchange.
