Little TikesT Recalls Children's Toy Workshop Sets and Trucks Due to Choking Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Little TikesT Workshops Sets and Trucks

Units: About 1.6 Million

Manufacturer: Little Tikes, of Hudson, Ohio

Hazard: The recalled workshop sets and trucks have oversized, plastic toy nails that can pose a choking hazard to young children.

Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received one report of an 11-month old boy from Goose Creek, S.C. who choked when the toy nail become forcefully lodged in his throat. The child was hospitalized and made a full recovery.

Description: The oversized, plastic toy nail is about 3 ¼ inches long by 1 ¼ inch in diameter and comes in red or blue colors. It has a large round head; about 1 ¼ inches below the head is a plastic ridge, slightly smaller than the nail head and about 1 inch in diameter. They were sold with a variety of Little Tikes Children's products. The names, model numbers and UPC code of the products included in this recall are listed below:

Jump 'n Jive Doorway Jumpers Recalled by Graco Due to Choking Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Jump 'n Jive(tm) Doorway Jumpers

Units: About 2,400

Manufacturer: Graco Children's Products Inc., of Atlanta, Ga.

Hazard: The recalled doorway jumpers include detachable toys that are attached to the jumper straps with strips of hook and loop fabric. The strips of fabric are not permanently attached to the toys and can become detached during use, posing a choking hazard.

Incidents/Injuries: The company has received one report of a child removing the fabric strip and placing it in his/her mouth. No injuries have been reported.

Description: The recalled doorway jumper includes an interactive musical dance mat and two detachable toys. The model number, 1755544, appears on the carton UPC label and on the underside of the jumper tray. The doorway jumpers were sold from April 2009 through July 2009.

Sold at: Babies R Us and other children's speciality retail stores nationwide and online from Amazon.com for about $55.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and remove and discard the detachable toys and the attaching fabric strips and call the manufacturer for a replacement set of toys. After the toys and fabric strips are removed, consumers can continue to use the jumper and interactive musical dance mat.

Hazard: A mirror decal attached to the toy can peel away, posing a potential choking hazard.

Description: The recall involves Evenflo Switch-A-Roo telephone toys made between October 2008 and June 2009. The model number is 6391911.

Pacifiers Recalled by Gromex Due to Choking Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Jaloma Pacifiers

Units: About 700

Importer: Gromex Inc., of Passaic, N.J.

Hazard: The pacifier mouth guard and the ventilation holes are too small and fail to meet federal safety standards. The pacifier could pose a choking and aspiration hazard to young children.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: This pacifier has a ring-shaped handle and a round-shaped mouth guard with two ventilation holes. "Jaloma" is printed on the handle side of the mouth guard and the nipple has a gel-like liquid inside.

Sold at: Retail stores in New Jersey and New York from February 2008 through March 2009 for about $1.

Manufactured in: Mexico

Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled pacifiers away from children and contact Gromex for a refund or exchange.

Ambler Mountain Works Recalls Children's Knitted Hats Due to Choking Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Erwin Beanie and Poseidon Beanie Children's Knitted Hats

Units: About 370

Manufacturer: Ambler Mountain Works, of Canmore, Alberta, Canada

Hazard: The eyeballs on the Erwin Beanie and the octopus legs on the Poseidon Beanie can come loose, posing a potential choking hazard.

Incidents/Injuries: The firm is aware of one incident involving the detachment of the legs of the octopus. No injuries have been reported.

Description: The Erwin Beanie is primarily green and white yarn knitted to configure a frog with white eyeballs and a red smile. The Poseidon Beanie comes in several colors of yarn and has hand sewn turtles, whales and octopus attached to the beanie. The beanies have the firm's logos "Ambler" or "A" printed on a fabric tag.

Sold at: Specialty sports and ski shops nationwide from September 2008 through November 2008 for about $30.

Manufactured in: Nepal

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the beanies and return them to Ambler Mountain for a free product replacement or cut off the frog's eyes and the octopus legs and permanently dispose of them.

Gap Recalls Children's Coats; Toggles Can Break and Detach Posing Choking Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of product: babyGap Children's Coats

Units: About 19,200 in the U.S. and 3,900 in Canada

Retailer: Gap Inc., of San Francisco, Calif.

Hazard: The coats have toggle fasteners that could break and detach from the coat, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: This recall involves three different children's coat styles with toggles including Rose Toggle Hoodie (style 600298), Pink Duffle Coat (style 600344), and Blue Plaid and Mojave Toggle Coat (style 600942). The coats were sold in infant sizes up to 24 months and are made of cotton, polyester, or polyester/acrylic. The toggles are light tan plastic and about 1 3/4 inches long.

Sold at: babyGap, GapKids and Gap Stores nationwide and at www.gap.com from October 2008 through April 2009 for between $20 and $50.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled coats away from children and return them to any babyGap, GapKids, or Gap store for a full refund. Toy Maracas Recalled by Tupperware U.S. Due to Choking and Suffocation Hazards

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Shape-O Toy Maracas

Units: About 44,000

Importer: Tupperware U.S. Inc., of Orlando, Fla.

Hazard: The maracas can break and expose small parts, posing a choking hazard to young children. In addition, the handle poses a suffocation hazard to young children.

Incidents/Injuries: Tupperware has received two reports of maracas breaking. No injuries have been reported.

Description: This recall involves blue and red toy maracas with yellow handles. The maracas were used by Tupperware representatives during sales presentations. Cut-outs in the shape of stars, squares and other geometric figures are located inside the maraca.

Sold by: Tupperware's Holiday 2007 and Spring 2008 product catalogs from September 2007 through April 2008 for between $5.50 and $11.

Hazard: The pacifiers failed to meet federal safety standards. The nipples can separate from the base easily, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Description: This recall involves Zoo pacifiers with animal cartoon figures as handles. The pacifier has a round-shaped mouth guard with three ventilation holes. "Made in Spain" is printed on the handle side of the mouth guard and "Mi Tosoro" is printed on the cardboard packaging.

Units: About 3,600

Manufacturer: Lakeshore Learning Materials, of Carson, Calif.

Hazard: The head of the stuffed butterfly toy can detach from the body, posing a choking hazard to children.

Incidents/Injuries: Lakeshore has received three reports of the head of the butterfly detaching from the body. No injuries were reported.

Description: The recalled product is a soft, multi-colored box with a different color on each side. "What's Inside?" is embroidered on the front of the box and symbols of a lion, flower and purple butterfly are stitched on another side. Each feely box contains ten small stuffed pieces. The piece affected by this recall is the pink and purple butterfly.

Hazard: The eyes on these bears can come off, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Incidents/Injuries: State Farm received one report of the plastic eye of a bear coming off and a child placing it in her mouth. No injuries have been reported.

Description: This recall involves the 11-inch (28 cm) and 18-inch (46 cm) State Farm Good Neigh Bears with plastic eyes. The bears are brown and wear a white and red State Farm shirt.

Sold at: The bears were given away free through State Farm agents and at State Farm sponsored events from September 2005 through March 2007.

Hazard: The infant toys have blue metallic fabric that can detach from the toy, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received 45 reports of the metallic fabric detaching from the toys. No injuries have been reported.

Marron Foods Recalls Instant Non Fat Dry Milk Boxes That May Contain Foreign Material

Marron Foods, a Durand, WI. company is voluntarily recalling approximately 140 cases of Non Fat Dry Milk that may contain a piece of metal that came off the packaging equipment which was discovered as part of regular maintenance.

Swallowing fragments of metal may constitute a choking hazard.

Product was distributed in Safeway Food stores nationally.

Units: About 35,500 in the United States and 5,400 in Canada

Hazard: The stuffed toys have two button eyes that could detach from the toy, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Hazard: The tools contain eyes that can separate, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received three reports of detached eyes, including two reports of children who started to choke on the pieces. No injuries have been reported.

Description: The recalled Playhouse Disney "Handy Manny" Tool Set is a plastic, eight-piece toy set that includes a tool box, hammer, saw, pliers, wrench, tape measure and two screwdrivers. The name "Handy Manny" is embossed on one side of the tool box. The UPC (#405144100614 or #422147400633) can be located on the product's packaging.

Infantino Expands Recall of Infant Rattles Due to Choking Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Infantino Lion and Lamb Grabby Rattles(tm)

Units: About 131,000 (20,000 units were previously recalled in March 2008)

Manufacturer: Infantino LLC, of San Diego, Calif.

Hazard: The tail-piece on the rattles can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Incidents/Injuries: Infantino has received 10 reports of the tail piece on the rattle detaching since March 2008. No injuries have been reported.

Description: The recalled Infantino Lamb and Lion Grabby Rattles(tm) are shaped like a lamb and lion respectively. Each has a ring-shaped body and an Infantino elliptical logo stamped on the front right foot of the animal. Rattles without tails on the animals and products with production codes of 0108 and 0508 are not affected by this recall. The production code is printed behind the ear in a dial format with the year (08) in the middle of a circle and an arrow pointing to the number on the circle (01 or 05) that indicates the month.

Sold at: Wal-Mart, Babies "R" Us and other specialty stores nationwide from May 2007 through September 2008 for between $3 and $4.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled toys away from young children and contact Infantino for a replacement rattle or a product of equal value.

Toy Xylophones Recalled by The Land of Nod Due to Choking Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Rolling Toy Xylophones

Units: About 500

Distributer: The Land of Nod Northbrook, Ill.

Hazard: The pegs on the xylophone can break, posing a choking hazard to children.

Incidents/Injuries: The Land of Nod has received 22 reports of broken pegs. No injuries have been reported.

Description: The recalled product is a rolling xylophone made of metal, wood and plastic. It has four wheels and a string to pull the toy. The xylophone has eight metal bars, each of which is attached with two pegs. The name 'Janod' is printed on each side between the wheels, and on the back wheels.

Sold at: The Land of Nod catalogue, Web site (www.landofnod.com), and retail stores nationwide from October 2007 through March 2008 for about $45.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled product away from children and return it to the company for a credit of the purchase price and a $10 gift card.

Top Goods Trading Recalls Flashing Pacifiers Due to Choking and Strangulation Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Flashing Pacifiers

Units: About 38,000

Importer: Top Goods Trading, of Temple City, Calif.

Hazard: The flashing pacifiers do not comply with federal safety standards for pacifiers. Although the pacifiers are marketed to older children and adults, they could be given to babies and cause serious injury or death. The pieces of the pacifier can separate, posing a choking hazard. The necklaces pose a strangulation hazard.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: The recalled flashing pacifier has a yellow heart-shaped mouth guard and handle. There is a 15-inch cord attached to the handle. LED lights are activated by pushing the heart-shaped handle into the base of the pacifier.

Sold at: Retail stores in the Los Angeles area from November 2007 through November 2008 for about 50 cents.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled pacifier away from children and contact Top Goods Trading for a refund or exchange.

Rashti & Rashti Expands Recall of Infant Garments Due to Choking Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Taggies(tm) Sleep'n Play Infant Garments

Units: About 16,000 (an additional 6,200 were recalled on July 1, 2008)

Importer: Rashti & Rashti, of New York, N.Y.

Hazard: The snaps on these garments can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: The July 2008 recall involved two Taggies(tm) Sleep 'n Play style infant garments: the Butterfly Applique' and the Fun Dog Print. Subsequent to the recall, two additional Taggies Sleep 'n Play styles, manufactured before July 1, 2008, were identified as also having snap issues. The recall has now been expanded to involve the Dinosaur Applique' and the Pink Toss Print styles. The infant garments are one piece footed coveralls with snaps down the front. These garments were sold in sizes 0-3 months, 3-6 months, and 6-9 months. RN #27829 is printed on the care label sewn into the garment. Style numbers are printed on the hangtag of the garments.
