Units: About 7,500
Retailer: QVC, of West Chester, Pa.
Manufacturer: Meyer Trading Company Limited, of Hong Kong, China
Hazard: Small pieces of the enamel coating can pop off when the skillet is heated, posing a burn hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received five reports of enamel popping off of the skillet, resulting in two reports of consumers receiving minor burns.
Description: This recall involves Technique brand enamel-coated 8-inch cast iron skillets with two pour spouts and a ribbed underside. The interior portion of the skillet is cream while the exterior was sold in three colors: sage, blue and red. The brand "Technique" is printed on the bottom of the pans.
Sold through: QVC's televised shopping programs, at qvc.com, and QVC retail and employee stores from August 2009 through September 2010 for between $28 and $35.
Manufactured in: China
Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled skillets. Known purchasers were mailed instructions for obtaining a full refund. Consumers who purchased the skillets at a QVC store should return the skillets to any QVC store for a full refund.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
Name of Product: Rachael Ray(tm) Brand Two Quart Teakettle
Units: About 59,000
Manufacturer: Meyer Corporation, U.S., of Vallejo, Calif.
Hazard: Water heated in the teakettles can spill and spray while being poured, posing a burn hazard.
Incidents/Injuries: The firm received eight complaints regarding the spilling of hot water from the teakettle's spout. Four of the complaints included reports of burn injuries.
Description: The recalled product is a Rachael Ray(tm) brand two quart teakettle. The teakettle has a stainless steel lid with a black handle and comes in four body colors: orange, blue, green and yellow. The teakettle's spout is opened by pushing forward a small black sliding piece on the teakettle's handle.
Sold: The teakettles were sold at a variety of department, housewares and gourmet kitchen stores and at discount and online retailers. The teakettles were sold from December 2008 through October 2010 for between $18 and $40.
Manufactured in: Thailand
Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using this product. Known consumers were mailed instructions for obtaining a replacement. Consumers should contact the firm to arrange for a replacement teakettle.

Units: About 1,500

Hazard: The enamel coating of the pan can crackle and break off after a few uses, posing a burn hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: There was one reported incident of a piece of enamel popping off of the pan, and causing a minor burn to a consumer.
Description: The recalled product is a cast iron cast-lite frying pan with an enamel coating inside and out. The pan was sold in a variety of colors and has model numbers: TTU9203, P9204, P9207, P9208, P9242, P9243, P9244, P9248, P9250, P9261, P9266, P9274, P9275, P9276 on the color sleeve packaging of the product. The models are correlated to pan colors.
Sold at: Bed, Bath & Beyond and Wegmans nationwide from May 2010 through September 2010 for about $30.

Williams-Sonoma Recalls Baby Bottle Warmers Due to Burn Hazard

Name of Product: Beaba Express Steam Bottle Warmers
Units: About 11,000
Importer: Williams-Sonoma Inc., of San Francisco, Calif.
Hazard: The bottle warmers can overheat liquids and baby food, posing a burn hazard to adults and babies.
Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received 10 reports of the bottles overheating, including one report of an adult who received a finger burn from touching a hot bottle.
Description: This recall involves the Beaba Express Steam Bottle Warmer which uses steam to heat baby bottles or baby food. The bottle warmer is green with an orange temperature dial. "Beaba" is printed on the base and model number 9602 is printed on the underside of the warmer.
Sold at: Williams-Sonoma stores nationwide, online at www.williams-sonoma.com and through Williams-Sonoma catalogs from June 2010 through July 2010 for about $65.

Baja Motorsports Recalls Mini Bikes and Go-Carts Due to Fire and Burn Hazards
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
Name of Product: Baja Motorsports Mini Bikes and Go-Carts
Units: About 308,000
Importer: Baja Inc., d/b/a Baja Motorsports, of Phoenix, Ariz.
Hazard: The gas cap can leak or detach from the fuel tank on the recalled mini bikes and go-carts, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers. In addition, the throttle can stick due to an improperly positioned fuel line and throttle cable, posing a sudden acceleration hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received at least 9 reports of the gas caps leaking and detaching, including one report of a serious burn injury to a child. The firm has also received 25 reports of stuck throttles possibly due to the fuel line and throttle cable being improperly attached with injuries to the face and other parts of the body reported.
Description: This recall involved Baja Motorsports mini bikes with model numbers beginning with HT65, MB165, WR65, MB196, DB30, WR90 and DR90 and go-carts with model numbers BB65, SD65, DN65 and TR65. The model number is located on the mini bikes' fenders and/or decorative fuel tank and on the go-carts' roll cage. They both have black plastic gas caps.
Sold at: Various mini bike and go-cart retailers nationwide from November 2004 through June, 2010 for between $200 and $2000. They were also available from the following web sites: Costco.com; Amazon.com; toysrus.com; northerntool.com; sears.com; and kmart.com.

Comarco Recalls Power Adapters for Laptops Due to Burn Hazard

Name of Product: Targus Universal Wall Power Adapters for Laptops
Units: About 507,000
Manufacturer: Comarco Inc. of, Lake Forest, Calif.
Hazard: Faulty wiring can cause the connector tips to heat and melt the plastic encasing the connector tips, posing a burn hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received 518 incidents of the connector tips heating, 53 of which resulted in the melting of the plastic casings. Eight consumers have reported a finger tip or hand burn. No reports of medical attention were received.
Description: This recall involves the Targus Universal Wall Power Adapters for Laptops. Only models with the following SKU numbers are affected by this recall: APA23US-02, APA23US-03, APA23US-04, APA63US-03, APA63US-04, APM62US-03 and APM62US-04. The SKU number can be found on the underside of the adapter unit.
Sold at: WalMart, Best Buy, Office Depot, Staples, Amazon.com and other retailers nationwide from June 2009 through March 2010 for between $89 and 109 for adapters for wall outlets only and for between $129 and $149 for adapters for both wall outlets and car/airplane use.

Hazard: Hot water mixed with Lysol can forcefully spurt out and rupture the housing unit, posing a burn hazard and a laceration hazard to consumers from the broken housing unit.
Incidents/Injuries: Conair has received 14 reports of hot water forcefully spilling out of the water reservoir compartment including two minor burn injuries to consumers who sought medical attention.
Description: This recall involves the Lysol Steam Cleaning Mop by Conair with model numbers SM10L or SM10LR. The model number is printed on the bottom of the mop under the microfiber cloth.

Gehl Foods Recalls Nacho Cheese and Chili Sauce Dispensers Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

Name of Product: Gehl's HOT TOP2 Nacho Cheese and Chili Sauce Dispensers
Units: About 115,000
Manufacturer: Gehl Foods Inc., of Germantown, Wis.
Hazard: The dispenser's fan blade can come into contact with the heater coil, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: Gehl Foods has received 12 reports of the dispenser's fan blade malfunctioning and coming into contact with the heater coil, including one report of a fire that caused property damage. No injuries have been reported.
Description: This recall includes Gehl Food's commercial nacho cheese and chili sauce dispensers with model numbers HT2-04 Single, HT2-04 Dual, and HT2-03 APS with serial numbers HT2 164500 through HT2 299689. The model and serial numbers are located on the back of the dispensers. "Gehl's" is printed on the front of the dispensers.
Sold at: The dispensers were leased to commercial customers nationwide, including concession and food service establishments, from December 2003 through September 2009.

Single Meter Sockets Recalled by Milbank Manufacturing Due to Fire and Electrocution Hazards
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Single Meter Sockets
Units: About 1,400
Manufacturer: Milbank Manufacturing Co., of Kansas City, Mo.
Hazard: A short may occur while in use due to an incorrect bridge installed in the product, to which the meter clips are attached. If the manufacturing defect exists, all metal parts of the meter could create a shock or burns can occur if the cover is off and the meter socket is energized.
Incidents/Injuries: Three incidents have been reported of the unit shorting out. No injuries were reported.
Description: The single meter 200 amp/4 terminal sockets are used for underground utility meter installations. The meter socket is 20 3/4 inches high by 9 inches wide and 4 1/2 inches deep with 1 meter position. It is used by the approving utility to mount their electric meter to measure how much electricity a residence uses. It can be used for an underground residential application. The recalled model number 9090 appears on the right or left side of the installed meter socket. If not installed, model numbers U9090-O or R9090-O will appear on the label on the outside of the box.
Sold at: Electrical supply distributors in N.Y., Pa., Vt. and Mass. and at local hardware stores in N.Y. from May 2009 through August 2009 for about $70.
Manufactured in: United States
Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled product immediately and contact the electrical supply contractor who installed the sockets. Contractors will contact Milbank Manufacturing for a replacement or reimbursement. Milbank will contact all distributors and stores where the recalled product was sold.

Steam Cleaners Recalled by Thane International Due to Shock and Burn Hazards

Name of Product: H2O Mop Steam Cleaners
Units: About 580,000
Distributor: Thane International, Inc., of La Quinta, Calif.
Hazard: The power cord can unexpectedly wear down and expose the wiring, posing a shock and burn hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: Thane has received 10 reports of incidents involving shock injuries and eight reports of incidents involving burn injuries.
Description: The H2O Mop is an electrically-powered appliance for cleaning a variety of floor surfaces that uses microfiber or disposable cloths on a cleaning head through which steam is dispersed. H2O Mops are white with a purple water tank with the "H20" and "M" symbol printed on the top of the cleaning head. The model numbers of affected units are 808.092 and OEM-TV-001. This recall only includes H2O Mops with the following reference numbers printed on the label on the back of the product: 200709198 to 200803148 or H20M1000 to M-H20M1198.

Name of Product: Black & Decker(r) brand Spacemaker(tm) Coffeemakers
Units: About 584,000
Distributor: Applica Consumer Products Inc., of Miramar, Fla.
Hazard: The brew basket can shift out of alignment allowing hot water to overflow. This poses a scalding and burn hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received 235 reports of hot water overflowing and contacting consumers, including 10 reports of second-degree burns.
Description: The recalled product is the Black & Decker-branded Spacemaker(tm) coffeemaker. The product has an under-cabinet mount, programmable digital clock/timer, removable water reservoir, and either a 12-cup glass carafe or an 8-cup thermal carafe. Only model numbers ODC440, ODC440B, ODC450 and ODC460 are included in the recall. The model number can be located on the back of the coffeemaker.
Sold at: Major retailers nationwide, including K-Mart, Kohl's, Target, Wal-Mart, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and Amazon.com, from March 2006 through March 2009 for between $60 and $70.

Hazard: The recalled equalizers can overheat, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received one report of an equalizer that overheated which resulted in fire that caused damage to the equalizer and batteries. No injuries have been reported.
Description: The recalled battery equalizers are charge balancing devices designed to increase the performance and longevity of rechargeable batteries.
Sold at: Authorized distributors and retailers from July 2006 through March 2009 for about $300.

Name of Product: Bunn® Single Cup Pod Brewers
Units: About 35,600
Manufacturer: Bunn-O-Matic Corp., of Springfield, Ill.
Hazard: The pod drawer of the pod brewer can open unexpectedly during a brew cycle, posing a burn hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: Bunn-O-Matic has received 10 reports of the drawer opening unexpectedly, including one report of minor burns.
Description: This recall involves Bunn® Single Pod Brewers. Models included in the recall are MCP (My Café Pourover) and MCA (My Café Automatic). The pod brewers have a black body with stainless backsplash and measure 12 inches high by 8 inches wide. "Bunn®" is printed on the front and lights up when the pod brewer is on.
Sold at: Web retailers, department and hardware stores nationwide between August 2004 and March 2009 for about $300.

Units: About 44,000
Manufacturer: HMI Industries Inc., of Strongsville, Ohio
Hazard: The recalled cleaners' wiring can overheat, causing electrical arcing and melting. This poses a burn hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: HMI has received 40 reports of overheating and damage to carpets. No injuries have been reported.
Description: The recalled floor cleaner is a black-colored, canister-style vacuum with a powered floor tool. The words "Majestic 360" and "FILTERQUEEN" are printed on a label located on the unit.
Sold through: Independent distributors nationwide from September 2004 through August 2006 for about $1800.

Senseo One-Cup Coffeemakers Recalled by Philips Consumer Lifestyle Due to Burn Hazard
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Philips Senseo One-Cup Coffeemakers
Units: About 155,000
Distributor: Philips Consumer Lifestyle, of Stamford, Conn.
Hazard: An electrical fault and the build-up of calcium from hard or medium water can cause an obstruction in the coffeemaker. If this happens, the boiler can burst, posing a burn hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported in the United States. The firm has received 17 reports of incidents in Europe, including six reports of minor personal injury involving first degree burns to the hands, arms and abdomen.
Description: This recall involves Senseo one-cup coffeemakers with model numbers HD 7810, HD 7811, HD 7815, HD 7820, HD 7832, and HD 7890. Model numbers are located on the bottom of the coffeemaker. Date codes are printed on the bottom of the coffeemaker. Coffeemakers made in China have date codes 0727 through 0847; coffeemakers made in Poland have date codes 0627 through 0847.
Sold at: Wal-Mart, Target and Safeway stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com between July 2006 through March 2009 for between $60 and $140.

GE Recalls Ranges Due to Fire and Burn Hazards
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: GE Profile(tm) Freestanding Dual Fuel Ranges
Units: About 28,000
Manufacturer: GE Consumer & Industrial, of Louisville, Ky.
Hazard: The wiring in the rear of the range can overheat, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: GE is aware of 47 reports of overheated wiring, including 33 reports of wiring that caught fire. Of these, one fire caused structural damage to the home and there have been 14 reports of minor property damage. No injuries have been reported.
Description: This recall involves GE Profile 30" Freestanding Duel Fuel ranges. The ranges were sold in white, black, bisque and stainless steel. The following model and serial numbers can be found on the left inside corner of the bottom drawer.

Name of Product: Halogen Clamp Lamps
Units: About 2,000
Manufacturer: Catalina Lighting Inc., of Miami, Fla.
Hazard: The UV glass lens on the lamp can crack, exposing the halogen bulb, posing a fire and burn hazard.
Incidents/Injuries: Catalina Lighting has received 65 reports of broken lenses. No injuries have been reported.
Description: The halogen clamp lamps, also known as architect's lamp, have 150 watt halogen bulb, an articulating arm, and a clamp desk lamp that adjusts up, down and swivels. Only lamps with model number 13456-US and lot numbers C06081581V185, C06081582V185 and C06081584V185 are included in the recall.
Sold at: Staples retail stores nationwide from July 2008 through October 2008 for about $50.
