Le Creuset Recalls Glass Lids Due to Laceration Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of Product: Le Creuset glass lids

Units: About 1,800

Importer: Le Creuset of America Inc., of Early Branch, S.C.

Hazard: The glass lids can crack or break during use, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: Le Creuset has received five reports of lids breaking in use. No injuries have been reported.

Description: This recall involves Le Creuset glass lids sold after October 2010. The clear glass lids measure between about 9 inches (24 cm) and about 12 inches (30 cm) and have "Le Creuset" stamped on the metal handles. The affected models include: 24cm glass lid, 28cm glass lid, and 30cm glass lid (including 30cm glass lids sold as part of the Le Creuset Forged Hard-Anodized 30cm Shallow Casserole with Lid set.).

Sold at: Le Creuset and other retailers nationwide from October 2010 through January 2011 for $20 for individual glass lids and $160 when part of a casserole set.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should stop using these lids immediately and return them to Le Creuset for a full refund of the purchase price.

Niner Bikes Recalls Bicycle Frame Due to Crash Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Bicycle frame

Units: About 750

Manufacturer: Niner Bikes of North Hollywood, California

Hazard: A welding deficiency can cause the bicycle frames to crack along the welds of the front triangle of the bicycle. This can cause the rider to lose control and crash.

Incidents/Injuries: Niner Bikes has not received any reports of injuries. The company has received 53 reports of cracks along the welds while bicycles were in use.

Description: The recalled bicycle frames include all Jet 9 models ranging sequentially from serial numbers P8001682 to P9400454. The frame is a full suspension model in the colors green, white or black. "Jet 9" and "Niner" are painted on the bicycle frame. The frame was made from 6000 series aluminum.

Sold at: Bicycle stores nationwide and overseas from March 2008 through September 2009 for $1,750.

Manufactured in: Taiwan

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled frames and contact Niner Bikes for a replacement.

Bicycles Recalled by Easton Sports; Stem Failure Poses Fall Hazard

/PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Bicycles with EA30 Stems

Units: About 6,400

Importer: Easton Sports, of Scotts Valley, Calif.


Hazard: The bicycle stem can crack and cause the rider to lose control, posing a risk of serious injury if the rider falls.

Incidents/Injuries: The company received a report of a stem breaking, causing a minor injury to the rider.

Description: This recall involves all Raleigh 2007, XXIX 700c MTN, RX1.0, Diamondback 2007, Mission, and Sortie bicycles with EA30 stems. The EA30 stems are black with white-and-gray graphics and feature a four-bolt stem face cap. "EA30" is printed on the stem. EA30 stems sold as aftermarket items are included in this recall.

Sold through: Independent bicycle dealers nationwide from August 2007 through August 2009 for between $500 and $1,200. Aftermarket stems were sold from August 2007 through September 2009 for about $30.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop riding the bicycles and contact any authorized Easton Sports for a free replacement stem.

Bicycles Recalled by Nirve Sports; Stem Failure Poses Fall Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Cannibal Bicycles

Units: About 120

Importer: Nirve Sports Ltd., of Huntington Beach, Calif.

Hazard: The bicycle stem can crack and cause the rider to lose control, posing a risk of serious injury if the rider falls.

Incidents/Injuries: Nirve Sports has received two reports of cracked stems. In both cases, the cracks occurred during assembly of the bicycle. No injuries have been reported.

Description: This recall involves Cannibal "Chopper" model bicycles with graphic designs by artist Corey Miller. The bicycles have a black matte finish. The affected bicycles have a serial number within the following range: L8E0300001 - L8E1001050. Serial numbers are located on the bottom of the bicycle between the pedals.

Sold by: Nirve Sports and authorized dealers nationwide from December 2008 through April 2009 for about $600.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop riding the bicycles and return them to the place of purchase for free repair.

Norco Recalls Bicycle Frames Due to Crash Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Norco Bicycle Frames

Units: About 3,600

Manufacturer: Norco Performance Bikes, of British Columbia, Canada

Hazard: The bicycle frame can crack and separate, causing a rider to fall from the bicycle and suffer injuries.

Incidents/Injuries: Norco has received one report of a rider who fractured their collar bone after falling from the bicycle.

Description: The recalled bicycle frames include the following model year and model names: 2007 Team DH, 2008 Team DH, Aline Park, Aline, Atomik, Shore 1,2,3, 2009 Atomik (without gussets). All colors are included in the recall and the model name is printed on a decal on the top tube of each frame/bike.

Sold at: Various bicycle distributors nationwide from September 2006 through February 2009 for between $2,000 and $7,000.

Manufactured in: Taiwan

Remedy: All owners should immediately stop using the bicycle frame and contact a local Norco dealer or Norco directly for information regarding receiving a possible replacement frame.

Milestone AV Technologies Recalls Television Wall Mounts Sold Exclusively At Best Buy; Unit Can Crack, TV Can Fall On Consumers

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: LCD television wall mounts

Units: About 140,000

Manufacturer: Milestone AV Technologies, of Savage, Minn.

Hazard: The wall mount can crack when used with televisions 26 inches and larger or with televisions that include a DVD player. The television can then fall from the wall mount and pose a serious risk of injury to consumers standing nearby.

Incidents/Injuries: Milestone is aware of 28 incidents in which the mount has cracked and the television has fallen from its mount. No injuries have been reported.

Description: These wall mounts are used with flat screen LCD televisions. The recalled wall mounts are INIT models NT-TVM103 and NT-TVM104. The model numbers can be found on the UL sticker on the television interface.

Sold at: Best Buy stores nationwide from June 2007 through December 2008 for between $60 and $90.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the wall mounts and contact Milestone to receive a free repair kit.

Atomic Skis USA Recalls Ski Bindings Due to Unexpected Release, Fall Hazard

/PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of product: Alpine Ski Bindings

Units: About 125,000 (an additional 1.0 million were sold outside the U.S.)

Manufacturer: Atomic Skis GmbH, of Austria

Hazard: The heel housing of the bindings can crack, causing the binding to release unexpectedly. This can cause the skier to lose control or fall and suffer injuries.

Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received four reports of injuries, including a concussion and injuries to the shoulder and knee from falls.

Description: The recall affects the heel components of the following Atomic alpine ski bindings: Race 310, Race 412, RaceRace 310, RaceRace 412, Xentrix 310, Xentrix 311, Xentrix 412, C310, C311, C412, CR 310, CR 412, R 310, R 412, SX 310, SX 412, Device 311, Device 412, Centro 310, Centro 412, and Dynamic ADX 312, RD10, X412, Centro 412. The recall includes only those bindings manufactured from 1998 through 2002. The year of manufacture can be located on the underside of the heel lever.

Sold at: Authorized Atomic USA ski dealers nationwide from 1998 through 2005 for between $150 and $350.

Manufactured in: Austria

Remedy: Consumers should stop using these ski bindings immediately and return them to any authorized Atomic Ski dealer for a free inspection and replacement of the heel component, if needed.
